Features of Graphiteleader Vivo EX spinning rods, popular models and reviews from fishermen

Athletes and advanced fishermen really appreciate Vivo Ex spinning rods. The rod brand was developed by the Japanese company OLYMPIC Inc. together with Russian fishermen and sportsmen.

Such gear is often used by spinning anglers during fishing competitions. The Graphiteleader Vivo series involves catching large predatory fish.

Spinning rod Graphiteleader Vivo EX: description

The rod is an indispensable tool that allows you to achieve excellent results in sports fishing. The spinning rod can withstand shaking in the boat during fast movement and creates the necessary contact with the bait at a distance of several meters.

Thanks to the powerful butt and rigid upper part, the balance is ensured, allowing you to use the rod for several hours. Excellent tactile sensitivity allows you not to lose contact with the bait and at the same time monitor the movement of your opponent.

Let's celebrate! The presence of a rigid tip contributes to the aggressive jerking animation of various baits. The rods expand the fishing sector due to the ability to make long casts.

Specifications

Vivo EX Graphite Leader spinning rods have three features:

  1. Thanks to the material used to make the tool, the rods are lightweight and have excellent balance. The instrument is characterized by great power and incredible sensitivity.
  2. The spigot connection of the knees is one of the features of Vivo EX spinning rods. This contributed to reducing the diameter of the blank and creating an ideal line of bending of the rod at the moment of loading. Consequently, the likelihood of the spinning rod leaving the rod is completely absent.
  3. High sensitivity of the tool is created by using a TVS reel seat from Fuji. This ensures excellent ergonomics of the rod.

Brief overview of Graphite Leader Vivo Ex models

Vivo spinning rods are made taking into account the latest developments. The line includes many models that differ in purpose for different weights of baits.

Review: Graphiteleader Vivo EX 18-60gr 842H – PAL Approved

The appearance of the Vivo EX line was predictable - a “stick” should have appeared, occupying a niche between the older Vivo series and the younger Rivolta.

I was especially looking forward to this powerful model, just for those cases when the Rivolta was already a little lacking... At the Pro Anglers League tournament, the Rivolta 812H rod with a test weight of 12-46 grams has been my main working rod for channel pike for several seasons now. Quite a few “mothers” weighing 7-8 kilograms were parked by him. But sometimes I found myself in conditions where it was necessary to use not only large silicone baits, but also equip them with atypically heavy (for sport) jig heads - weighing from 50 grams. This is the Lower Volga, and my “home” section of the Volga below the Saratov hydroelectric station. I have some strong casting rods, but tournament conditions for multis are a little tricky - they don't play well with the thin PE lines I use. And Vivo EX 842H perfectly filled an empty niche.

Externally, the rod was designed in a discreet manner, at the Rivolta level. Not for everyone - but I heard that many did not like the excessive brightness (this is how the word “vivo” is translated, by the way) of the progenitor series. I liked the upper part of the handle. Fits quite well in my hand with my grip. The weight of the Vivo and Vivo EX series is almost the same, despite the noticeable difference in price. The balance is good for this “weight category”. I note that fishing was equally comfortable with both the 310-gram Shimano Biomaster 4000 reel and the 270-gram Twin Power Mg 4000.

What interested me most was the comparison between the “old” and “new” Vivo in terms of tactile sensitivity. And I mean, of course, the Vivo GVOS 842H with a test of 16-60 g, which is extremely close to our experimental Vivo EX in terms of catalog characteristics. I managed to catch one fishing event alternately with both models, using the same baits. It immediately caught my eye that the more expensive Vivo has a pronounced “end” structure (with a soft top), while Vivo EX is elastic along the entire length and is more similar in type to Rivolta. It is this type that expands the Vivo test range downward (16 degrees versus 18 degrees for the EX). At the top everything is approximately the same, without dips up to the very top bar. Vivo EX easily works with weights of 60g + a bait of a regular size of 7-10 cm. The tactile feel from scales from an ounce seemed identical to me, which, in fact, made me happy. I think this information will please many potential Vivo EX buyers. Rivolta confidently outperforms in all test ranges. In general, for small scales I can highlight the following figures:

  • from 14 g - almost no feedback, only on the fishing line
  • from 16 g - a tactile “unharness” appears when touching the bottom. A little visually along the tip
  • from 18 g - everything is completely under control in “clean” conditions (wind, current are minimal)
  • from 20 g - wind and current are no longer so important

The hook is very powerful and confident. Under no circumstances does the form fall over during the flow. When playing, everything is also very good - the rod is not “dry”, and contains a lot of reserves. The scope of application is, of course, jig. Adult Volga jig.

Reviews from fishermen

Decent spinning rod. I used it all last season for both jigging and twitching. The largest fish caught on Vivo was pike perch, weighing 6.7 kg. I give it an A because there is no higher rating. Grade:

I fish Vivo EX 762 ML, an excellent all-rounder with a jig bias. Compared to the RIVOLTA 772 ML, the Vivo EX 762 ML has better feel and a faster form. The EX makes it easier to control the wiring. With Rivolta the casts are further, so it is better for me to use it in the current, and Vivo in still waters or where the current is not too strong. Grade:

Noble wand. I was once alarmed by the name “universal rod,” but now I understand that spinning rods, thanks to their ringing form, are universal. They are designed for fishing with wobblers or iron, and are excellent for jig fishing. Grade:

In the spring I bought a VIVO EX GLVXS 792ML spinning rod. I preferred this particular manufacturer because of the positive reviews about it. I used a spinning rod several times and caught six hefty fish. Thanks to the flexibility of the rod, you don’t have to worry about its integrity. The spinning rod is not heavy, so your hand doesn’t get tired, and the price is reasonable. Grade:

I am a fisherman with a lot of experience and choose my rods very carefully. The last time I purchased the VIVO EX GLVXS 702M model. I tested the tool while fishing several times and caught more than one fish with it. The spinning rod is strong, compact, and does not take up much space. Overall, I'm pleased with my choice. Grade:

Graphiteleader Vivo EX is an excellent tackle suitable for the reservoirs of our latitudes. Twitching and jig are their main focus, but other lures are also possible. The series is distinguished by high sensitivity, power and ergonomics.

Let's celebrate! An angler who purchases a Vivo EX spinning rod will enjoy fishing for many seasons.

Spinning rod Graphiteleader Vivo GVOS-762ML review by Denis Vikhrov

You could hear reviews from many athletes and ordinary amateurs about this series of rods that the spinning rods are simply super, and that when you pick up this spinning rod, “the client will forget about everything in the world.”

I was very interested, is this really so? And at the very beginning of the “winter water” season on the Moscow River, the Graphiteleader Vivo GVOS-762ML rod falls into my hands. I chose this rod for simple reasons, the rod test is the most “Moscow” rod, 4-18 grams. The length is quite comfortable for fishing from the shore - 2.29 m.

Before my first fishing trip, while still at home, I was selecting a balance with the reel and after rearranging several models, I realized that the 3000-nickel Daiwa, namely the Caldia Kix, fit just perfectly.

I would also like to draw your attention to the handle, it is spaced apart and made of black EVA material. It is not noticeable and feels pleasant in the hand.

The first fishing happened in the dark, and the spinning rod attracted a white predator, and in those places where I had not caught one for many years. Of course, this is a joke, but nevertheless, the first fish in several fishing trips were chubs, and they were caught on crankbaits.

By the way, the maximum minimum for a spinning rod is a crank of size 40mm, for example, a crank from Major Craft Zoner Crank 40SS, flies noticeably worse than, for example, a crank from Yo-Zuri 3D Flat Crank.

As for minnow wobblers, after several fishing trips in the dark I came to the conclusion that the spinning rod works great with 60-90mm wobblers. The spinning rod throws wobblers smaller than 60 mm noticeably weaker; the spinning rod copes with less persistent wobblers of sizes 100-110 on a uniform retrieve. It has not yet been possible to consider the topic of twitching with the Graphiteleader Vivo GVOS-762ML spinning rod in detail, but I can say with confidence that it will pull 60-80 mm wobblers without problems; we still have to figure out the comfort at the bottom and top.

It is also worth noting the bandage of the rings, this is especially important for lovers of night fishing for pike perch, the bandage rings have a bright winding, when exposed to light they stand out very brightly, which allows you to conveniently control your actions in the dark.

Now let's go through the test of the rod, test Graphiteleader Vivo GVOS-762ML 4-18 grams. On the very first fishing trips, I checked the upper limit of the test, and on subsequent fishing trips I was convinced of my original opinion. The spinning rod copes well with 18 grams + bait, be it a 3-inch twister or a foam fish. There is no obvious overload when working with such equipment, but there is no desire to put a weight even a gram heavier. We conclude that the rod copes well with a total bait weight of 20 grams. For the lower test, I used a minimum of 8 and 10 grams + a small 2-inch bait. From 10 grams, the spinning rod begins to work comfortably and feel good in the hand. 8 grams works well under ideal conditions when there is no wind. I think that if necessary, you can work with 6 grams, but the potential of the spinning rod will not be fully revealed.

I would like to pay attention to the casting of this rod; for a longer and more effective cast, you should make a sharp short swing so that the bait seems to shoot out.

I also had the opportunity to fish one fishing trip with lead rigs, such as Carolina and a retractable lead within the test rod. The Graphiteleader Vivo GVOS-762ML worked beyond all praise with these equipment, excellent sensitivity, conveys all the subtleties of the bottom and even the subtle bite of a perch.

Having already fished with a spinning rod for about 10 fishing trips, I can say that it is very difficult to let go of this rod and take something else fishing if the fishing takes place in fishing conditions with weights from 10 to 18 grams and 60-80 mm wobblers. The spinning rod is very simple and at the same time very elegant, lightweight and, most importantly, has simply excellent sensitivity. Taken together, all these factors make this series of rods so popular.
