Electronic light and sound bite alarm "Jay-5" Megatex
It is used to indicate fish bites in summer when bottom (feeder) fishing and in winter when fishing from ice at night and during the day.
The signaling device can be fixed anywhere on a fishing rod, or on the pole of a winter fishing rod, or on the signal post of a winter fishing rod using a ring made of heat-resistant rubber included in the delivery set.
To turn the alarm on or off, you need to press the button and release it after the first sound signal. If, after releasing the button, a short beep sounds, the alarm is turned on, if it is long, it turns off.
To change the functional parameters of the alarm, you need to press and hold the button. Release after one of the beeps following the first (service) sound, indicating entry into the settings mode.
If you release the button after one of the following five signals, one of five sensitivity levels will be set. The most sensitive level is the fifth.
As you continue to hold the button down, three types of beeps are displayed. The type of sound signal is set when the button is released after the selected sound ends.
automatically turning off the alarm when hooked is turned on or off
If you continue to hold the button pressed, after 20 seconds, a demonstration of the sound of the signal with different volumes and tonality will begin. By releasing the button, the selected sound signal is set.
The set parameters remain in the device’s memory until they are forced to change.
At the first bite, the light indication turns on for 20 seconds and the sound signal for 4 seconds. The next fish bite, if it occurs in less than 5 minutes, is triggered by short-duration light and sound signals.
After the indicator is triggered, the LED will flash every 5 seconds for 5 minutes, thereby showing on which tackle the undetected bite .
The alarm provides protection against false alarms from wind, waves and algae.
An energy-saving circuit automatically turns off the alarm after three hours if no signals are received.
The CR1220 battery that powers the alarm is designed to operate the alarm for up to 5 years. To replace the battery, you need to unscrew the housing from the sleeve - the leg on the side of the opposite button, remove the used battery from the battery compartment located on the board and install a new one in its place, observing the polarity. Screw the body into the sleeve.
The alarm is sealed, does not sink in water and is not afraid of moisture.

Electronic light and sound bite indicator (vole alarm) - Jay 3
The new electronic light and sound bite indicator is the latest development of the Megatex Research and Production Enterprise. The indicator can be used in summer when bottom (feeder) fishing and in winter when catching fish from ice at night and during the day. There are no analogues to this product either on the Russian or foreign markets.
The main differences between the Soyka-3 signaling device and the previous modification:
1. "Soyka-3" is produced in a metal case, which allows you to increase the operating temperature range to +100°C.
2.Added a new function: indication of a missed bite. After the indicator is triggered, the LED will flash every 5 seconds for 5 minutes, thereby showing on which tackle the undetected bite occurred.
3. The light indicator is located on the surface of the case. Thanks to this, the light signal became more noticeable.
The alarm does not require additional settings, changing or charging batteries for more than 5 years of operation.
Terms of use and warranty:
— The device does not require additional settings; — Operating conditions from -40 degrees. From up to +65 degrees. C — In the event of a product failure during the warranty period due to the fault of the manufacturer, the buyer receives a new device in place of the faulty product with a renewal of the warranty period; — The warranty period is calculated from the date of sale of the product and is equal to 12 months.
DESCRIPTION:
The alarm is easily attached to the fishing rod (whip) using adhesive tape. The installation location of the indicator on the fishing rod is selected only based on the convenience of controlling the indicator. There are no mechanical components in the indicator; there is no need to thread the fishing line anywhere. The indicator receives all fish bites through the rod blank, and on a winter fishing rod it signals a bite when the nod is raised or lowered. Depending on the fishing conditions, the indicator provides settings: sensitivity level and turning on/off automatic shutdown when hooking. Also, three sound levels. Adjustable with one button. The sensitivity of the indicator has five levels. If you press the button briefly, the indicator will turn on (turn off) and work with the previously set settings. If you continue to press the button, the sensitivity levels will cycle through. The LED will light up and a beep will sound. Releasing the button after the end of any of these signals means switching to the corresponding sensitivity level. The sensitivity of the indicator increases by 20% after each light and sound signal. The sixth signal sets (disables) the function of automatically turning off the alarm when a sharp swing of the fishing rod (hooking).
Changing sensitivity, in our opinion, is the main parameter of electronic alarms. If you catch large, strong fish with boilies or cake, then with high sensitivity, false bites of small things will bother you. Similarly, when catching a predator on a bottom using live bait, with high sensitivity, the indicator will be triggered by the movement of the fry on the hook. When fishing for carp, bream, and large predators, we recommend setting the sensitivity to level 1 or 2. It is more convenient to catch smaller or more cautious fish such as roach, bleak, crucian carp, and bream at level 3. We recommend using the highest levels 4 and 5 for winter fishing. When setting this sensitivity, the indicator will be triggered by the rise or fall of the nod of the winter fishing rod. The function of turning on (off) the automatic shutdown of the indicator when hooking is intended for ease of use of the product. If there is a high probability of catching a large fish, then it is better not to use automatic shutdown, because a strong bite may be perceived by the device as a hook, and the indicator will turn off. It's a different matter when you catch a white bream or roach. To avoid unnecessary movements to turn off the indicator when landing fish, turn on automatic shutdown.
When a fish bites, the LED lights up and a beep sounds. The sound signal, if there are no extraneous sounds, can be heard at a distance of up to 50 meters. The glowing LED is visible at a distance of up to one hundred meters at night. The indicator uses an electronic sensor, the signals from which are processed by a microcomputer. The microcomputer program includes protection against false alarms due to the action of wind, waves and mud. An energy-saving circuit turns off the device after three hours if no signals are received. The use of an energy-saving circuit and modern element base allowed the manufacturer to promise product operation for more than 5 years without changing or recharging batteries.
Theoretical calculation of energy consumption shows that the device can operate for more than 5000 hours in active fishing mode. Conditionally assuming active fishing, in which fish bite every minute, the battery charge should be enough for more than five years of product operation for the average Russian amateur fisherman
An electronic indicator with a set of such functions weighs only 12 grams and has the dimensions of a gas lighter. Having attached it to the rod once, it will not interfere with casting the tackle and landing fish, and with a winter fishing rod you can do vertical retrieving. Operating conditions for the indicator are from minus 40°C to plus 65°C. The body is sealed, not afraid of moisture, works even when completely immersed in water, and has positive buoyancy.
Understanding the difficult operating conditions of the device and taking into account the shortcomings of previous designs, special attention was paid to sealing the product. Tests of the indicator have shown that this product does not lose its operating parameters when fully immersed for more than three days.
The developers of NPP Megatex, understanding the massive demand for the product, tried to optimize costs through the use of high-tech manufacturing. The cost of the product is the lowest among electronic light and sound indicators, and the reliability, quality, number of functions, capabilities and ease of use are the greatest. Have fun fishing!
Electronic bite alarm Megatex
Review of an electronic light and sound bite indicator for summer and winter fishing from Megatex.
I became very interested in feeder fishing last year, 2015.
And when, equipped with everything I needed in the online store, I got to the point where I needed an assistant to determine the bite, my choice began to jump:
– first he rushed towards the coil with a built-in signaling device. The most expensive option, but for me it was the highest priority at first. – then we considered an option with a sensor that is screwed into the rack. Common and more economical compared to the first. - Well, the simplest and cheapest option is reliable and not very convenient bells on a clothespin.
However, the seller skillfully dissuaded me from the first option. And also the second and third. And he suggested something in between - a Megatex bite alarm. In terms of parameters: electronic, easy to use, small in size and easy to operate, reasonable for the money - it suited me, and so I bought it. Here it is, with and without packaging.
The device is incredibly simple: – Winter/summer, day/night fishing – it can; – Has 5 sensitivity levels that you can set yourself; – You can set 3 different sound signals when biting; – You can change the sound volume if desired; – According to the manufacturer, it can be used in severe frosts down to -40 degrees and in hellish heat of +65 degrees; – Fixed anywhere on the rod blank using electrical tape; – There is an automatic shutdown function when hooking - so that it doesn’t squeak boringly and does not interfere with the intimate process of fishing :) – In theory, it should not react to algae, gusts of wind, waves, since there is a system against false alarms; – Designed in such a way that after 3 hours without a bite it turns itself off; – Not afraid of water – waterproof. And he doesn't drown; – Designed for up to 5 years of operation on one battery. According to the manufacturer; – Dimensions: weighs about 15 grams, and is slightly larger than an AA battery.
In my opinion, the workmanship of my Megatex electronic signaling device on a five-point scale is a solid three. A piece of plastic, in some places with unrounded edges and small burrs (I modified it a little with a knife), with a microcircuit loose inside (when slightly shaken, it hits the walls with a characteristic sound). Hmm, cheap and cheerful :(
I managed to test it last year and, in general, form my own impression of the sensor.
Pros:
– A simple device with a fairly good set of functions.
Minuses:
– I still don’t fully understand about the loose microcircuit and the noise when shaking. Either my alarm is defective and needs to be replaced under warranty. Is this how it should be?
– It happened that he was silent and did not squeak when there was a bite.
