Recipes for making bait for tench at home

Rarely do any fishermen wonder how to catch tench, since most often this fish is caught in the bycatch of bream, crucian carp, rudd and roach, but there is a special caste of fishermen who pose a serious challenge to tench! Based on this, they prepare appropriate bait for tench, observing some nuances.

Tench is a voracious fish, it is the closest relative of carp and crucian carp, and it is difficult to overfeed it. Since red-eyed beauties are most active in biting in the spring after hibernation, most often they can be caught using animal baits. It is also recommended to add more animal proteins to the bait. This includes chopped worms, maggots, and bloodworms. Some fishermen successfully use ordinary cottage cheese as bait. With the onset of summer and warming up of the water, tench also do not disdain grains, biscuits and corn.

Many store-bought mixtures already contain a rich composition of nutritional components that green-sided fatties will enjoy. On the shelves of fishing stores, you should pay attention to dry linen mixtures from Traper, Sensas and FishBate. Also, more and more new formulations are appearing from other manufacturers.

Don't forget to add a portion of maggots or worms when feeding. Nowadays you can buy almost everything, but it is much more interesting and enjoyable to prepare complementary foods yourself at home.

The best bait for tench with your own hands

So, here are simple and affordable proven recipes: Complementary feeding with cottage cheese:

  • Regular cottage cheese by weight or in packs - 0.5-1 kg.
  • Chopped worms (shred and add already on the shore) - the more the better
  • Maggot (preferably scalded, but I add live) – a couple of jars
  • The soil is one to one with the rest of the mass
  • Canned corn – small jar

I deliberately do not indicate the exact proportions, since this is not so important. Mix everything thoroughly and throw balls the size of snowballs into the fishing area.

Note: When you are too lazy to bother with mixing, you can use any ready-made dark winter bait containing bloodworms, maggots and gammarus. They are initially very rich in proteins and attract and retain fish well even in summer. Tested - it works!

And another simple recipe for line bait:

  • Compound fish feed (in stores it is presented as compound feed or pellets)
  • Dry cat food with fish flavor (it also contains a lot of fish meal)
  • Canned corn
  • Powdered milk

As a bonus, you can add hemp oil or hemp seeds to any composition, but since they are not sold everywhere, this component is not necessary. You can and even need to change the compositions and experiment yourself!

Whatever the tench likes, we offer it! Worms + cat food + maggots + corn! I'm sure it will work!

Cottage cheese + corn + mixed feed – you have to try it, it sounds promising! Just chopped worms in the ground - a delicacy! And if you add maggots too!

Of course, cutting worms at home is not very aesthetically pleasing or hygienic, but this can be done without any problems right on the shore.

Try it! And the reward will find its owner! It will swim towards it, shimmering with greenish dense sides and bite, pulling the float to the side and down!
