Interesting museums in Moscow for teenagers

Today, many museums are not just an exhibition of exhibits that need to be viewed and studied for hours. Modern technologies make it possible to turn a visit to the museum into a real interactive holiday, which attracts not only adults, but also children.

In Moscow, in recent years, many specialized children's museums have been created, in which educational programs are successfully combined with entertainment, and various shows, master classes and performances are held. To get to the most popular museums without queues, purchase museum excursions in Moscow on our website.

Space Museum

Which child did not dream of becoming an astronaut when the first flights to the stars began? The generation of dreamers has long grown up, but their children and grandchildren will also be interested in learning about the pioneers of the Universe, galactic systems, distant planets and everything related to outer space.

You will be told in detail about the history of space at the Moscow Museum of Cosmonautics, which opened in the 80s. last century in the stylobate of a memorial monument near the VDNKh metro station. Not long ago, the building was reconstructed, restored and new exhibitions were opened.

The room is decorated in the shape of a large spaceship. On an excursion to the museum, children will be interested in seeing the descent vehicles and the first artificial satellite of the Earth, and learning the history of the legendary dogs that conquered the heavens - Belka and Strelka.

  • In the cinema hall you will be shown an interesting film about the everyday life of astronauts in zero gravity.
  • Interactive simulators will allow you to control the spacecraft as in a real flight.
  • The museum even has a miniature Mission Control Center, from where you can truly establish communication with the interplanetary station and the astronauts working on it.
  • There is a special educational program for the little ones.

Paleontological Museum

Mysterious reptiles that inhabited our planet millions of years ago, and films about them excite children’s minds no less than stories about Harry Potter or Star Wars. In Moscow you can see these fossils even in life size - in the Museum of Paleontology.

A large building, similar to an ancient defensive fortification, is located at the address: st. Profsoyuznaya, 123. The house is clearly visible from a distance, thanks to the brick-red color of the external walls.

The huge internal territory of the museum, covering an area of several square kilometers, accommodates six halls. All halls feature exhibitions of fossils that lived during the Paleozoic and Mesozoic eras. The most popular of them is the fifth in a row, where giant skeletons of extinct animals are presented:

  • dinosaur;
  • mammoth;
  • plesiosaur;
  • indricotherium;
  • diplodocus and other land and waterfowl monsters.

If we estimate the size of some representatives of these lizards, their height will reach several floors of a standard house.

Transport Museum

It will be interesting, of course, for boys to visit this museum. The automobile museum collection began with a private collection of a Moscow car owner and consisted of about two dozen cars. Interesting retro models of foreign and domestic production are collected in a former factory building on Rogozhsky Val. All exhibits are unique, and among them you can find not only those produced at machine-building plants, but also hand-assembled ones.

In one of the halls there is a car created by a craftsman from the Russian outback about half a century ago. The body of the car is made from an aircraft tank, and a kitchen frying pan is attached instead of a steering wheel.

The daily exhibition displays more than three hundred units of automotive equipment, including:

  • discontinued passenger cars and trucks,
  • sports cars - winners of various competitions,
  • cars associated with memorable dates and events;
  • retro bicycles.

In the halls of the museum there are models of all factories that existed during the Soviet and Russian periods. The collection is regularly updated. During walks around the museum, thematic excursions are held that tell about the history of automobile transport.
