The design of "Navigator 20°20' - 20°21'" contains a code from iconic places on the map of Russia. Here you can see the western and eastern peaks of Elbrus, the steel cables of the Golden Bridge in Vladivostok, the Fisht stadium in Sochi, the jagged walls of the facade of the Swallow's Nest in Yalta, the rays of the Murmansk lighthouse and, of course, the starting and ending point of the journey - the Main Entrance Arch in Gorky Park.

Zones of Gorky Park in Moscow

The modern park is divided into four parts, each of which is a valuable zone in its own right: Parterre (the official, main part, the park itself), Muzeon, Neskuchny Garden and Sparrow Hills.

Parterre

Before the revolution, the Orlovsky Meadow stretched on the site of the park. In the 19th century, cockfights, fist fights, horse races and races were held here. By the beginning of the 20th century, the territory was abandoned and turned into a landfill. In 1923, in preparation for the agricultural exhibition, the garbage was removed and the area was developed. The park was opened in 1928, but the process of its formation continued until the end of the 1930s. As already mentioned, the park acquired its modern appearance in 2011, and since then the territory has been continuously developing. Nowadays, festivals, concerts are held here, City Day, Victory Day, New Year and other holidays are celebrated, and in winter there is a skating rink.

Boring Garden

The historical, “middle” part of the park. Founded in 1728 by Prince Nikita Trubetskoy. He bought a plot of land for an estate, and after him came large industrialists, nobles - in a word, people with money and influence. Today Neskuchny Garden is a monument of landscape gardening art (pavilions, bridges, fountain, rotunda) and a favorite place for romantic dates.

Sparrow Hills

The best observation deck. Located opposite Moscow State University. On the site of the observation deck, from the middle of the 15th century until 1956, there was the village of Vorobyovo, from which only the Church of the Life-Giving Trinity remained. The distance from the central entrance to the park to the observation deck is 5 km along the embankment (1 hour walk).

Muzeon Art Park

The Muzeon Sculpture Museum is located on the other side of Krymsky Val, next to the Tretyakov Gallery. More than 1,000 open-air sculptures: public art, avant-garde works, monuments of socialist realism, etc. The park has a School pavilion, a Children's Center and a Summer Cinema. Music festivals, creative master classes, film screenings of rare films, and performances are held here.
