Tackle for catching silver carp - fishing with bottom tackle, technoplankton, bait

Gear for fishing on top

To a greater extent, silver carp prefers to live in the middle and surface layers of water. And to catch a trophy, you need gear that does not allow bait and baited hooks to sink to the bottom of the reservoir.

In this case, select a tackle with a heavy float that can withstand the bait base in a certain layer of water.

Modern equipment and their additional elements allow you to keep complementary foods in a certain area of the water space.

This is facilitated by sinkers, which can be firmly attached or have a sliding effect along the main line.

As holding elements for bait, trempel or another name “silver carp stick” is used, as well as feeders with a closed bottom and large “springs” (like for crucian carp or crucian carp).

Float tackle for silver carp

To complete the gear you will need:

Float tackle

There are two types of float gear:

  1. with float
  2. with a sliding sinker.

The structure of the tackle for silver carp is practically no different from conventional tackle. There is only one feature - you will need a special, or best of all, transparent float so as not to scare away the fish.

Floats come in handy in 2 types:

  1. normal, slightly weighted to be able to lie on the water, with a barely noticeable antenna,
  2. spindle-shaped, oblong, weighted with pellets located below.

Quite often, a strong current can spoil the bite, blowing gear away from the feeding area. Experienced fishermen shared advice on how to counter this.

A sinker weighing from 30 to 90 grams should be attached to the main line between the float and the rod.

You can also use sliding floats to solve the problem.

It is not recommended to choose short leashes for float tackle.

To reduce the percentage of silver carp falling off the hook, you should place the hook on the leash below the technoplankton level.

This will also reduce the number of false bites. For reservoirs with weak currents, blind sinkers with floats capable of holding a weight of more than 50 grams are suitable.

A sliding float is much more effective than a sinker in holding gear in place. The main line in this case is attached to the sinker, passing through the float. The sinker itself lies at the bottom when fishing.

After casting the tackle, the line and sinker reach the bottom, but the tackle remains afloat. A silver carp caught on a hook in most cases cannot break free.

Of course, the store's assortment of tackle contains excellent options to choose from, but what purchased tackle can compare with the one you made yourself?

The fisherman will make the best tackle for himself, putting quality and soul into it at the same time.

Fishing for silver carp with a spring

I want to tell you about a very interesting method of fishing for lures, which I started using last year, at the very end of summer and beginning of autumn. One day, having arrived at “my” reservoir, where there are a lot of trophy fish, I started fishing with the usual technoplankton with foam balls.

After sitting on the shore for 2 hours, I still didn’t see any bites, and the technoplankton kept dissolving and dissolving. Out of idleness, I took binoculars and began to examine the surface of the water in search of something interesting.

After about ten minutes of my observations, I noticed a funny situation: in one place, with regular frequency, whole “flocks” of gas bubbles appeared and disappeared. At first I thought it was just gas coming out of the silt, but then I noticed a “dolphin” in this place.

Peering into the distance in bewilderment, I began to wonder what was going on. The thought occurred to me that due to the fact that the water had already cooled a little and plankton was not reproducing well, the forehead began to furiously hit the bottom in order to raise the turbidity and at least strain something.

But it was evening and I didn’t have “techno” anymore, so I decided to get ready to go home. On the way home, I kept thinking about what to offer them in order to “ease the suffering” of their foreheads.

The next day I went to the market and bought a pack of Dream Fish “Geyser” at one magician’s shop. When I arrived home, I brewed some “mamalyga” just in case, took my “whips” and went to the pond.

Before this, I prepared 3 rigs shown above, to be honest, I “wrote them off” in one article about catching carp (THANK YOU GUYS), but in fishing everything is good, the main thing is not to lose hope and experiment.

Everything on the lake is quiet, not a splash, not a “torpedo” - the mirror is smooth. I stopped opposite the place where the big-headed one was fighting yesterday, stirred up a “geyser”, put on foam plastic and began a dense shelling of the area.

Having put down the rods, I began to wait. After about 20 minutes, the first timid pull, followed by a second, and suddenly the line sags.

I hook and feel that someone is sitting there, I take it out - crucian carp 700 grams. I think it’s not bad, but I want a decent trophy.

I reboot and again wait a few minutes. But suddenly there is a sharp pull and the clutch releases 3 meters of fishing line, I hook and there’s a hook.

Twitching the rod, I start to get nervous, like the first good bite and the end (and three minutes have already passed), when suddenly the hook begins to come off the bottom and slowly go to the right (I’m writing and I’m getting goosebumps), I loosen the grip and start fishing.

Half an hour later my arm already hurts, and I haven’t seen the fish yet. After fiddling around for another 25 minutes, I see a huge breaker about twenty meters away, I still pump it out and after about 10 minutes I bring this simply handsome guy into the landing net.

The landing net bent and I brought the fish ashore, it was IT, a real trophy, before this, of course, I caught them, but this...

The sequence of collecting gear together

The sequence of elements begins with the main line and continues to the end of the rig:

  1. A sinker weighing 30-40 g is threaded through the main line.
  2. The stopper is skipped.
  3. Next, a stop bead is passed through.
  4. Massive float with a keel.
  5. Having measured 1 m of fishing line from the bead, a swivel is attached to the fishing line, but before that, thread the damper.
  6. A piece of fishing line 0.8 cm-1 m long is tied to another ring of the swivel.
  7. A sliding sinker is placed on a piece of fishing line to plumb the tackle (float).
  8. A carabiner is attached to the edge of the fishing line, which quickly allows you to change the bait base.
  9. A trempel with technoplankton, leashes and hooks is attached to the carabiner itself.

Installation of tackle for silver carp with your own hands

Today, many fishermen use homemade gear to catch silver carp. The advantage of such equipment lies in its low cost and high performance.

Classic dong

The classic donka is the simplest version of tackle for catching silver carp, and even a novice fisherman can make it.

To create a tackle, take a main thread about 50 m long and directly tie a weight to it that is suitable for the conditions of the reservoir. A blind loop is created along the length of the base no less than 3-5 m: leashes with bait will be attached to it.

The length of the leash is directly related to the water horizon being fished and in some cases reaches 1.5 m. At the end of the leash, a carabiner is installed, to which a technoplankton capsule equipment or a spring-type feeder is attached.

Its buoyancy is ensured by installing an additional float.

Donka with a float

The gear is a heavy or super-heavy feeder, equipped with an inertia-free carp reel and a braided line, the length of which varies from 120 to 150 m. The highlight of this gear is the installation of a device called the “silver carp killer.”

This device contains a weight and a special bracket to which leashes with hooks or technoplankton are attached.

Inverted donka with float

The creation of such equipment is carried out according to the same plan as the installation of a donkey with a float, the only difference is in the “silver carp killer” equipment. A battery of leashes with hooks is installed under the technoplankton tablet.

With this installation method, peas of foam plastic are additionally used, which are able to lift the accessory with a leash into the area where the nutrient composition is sprayed.

Float tackle

To create this kind of gear, it is necessary to prepare a barrel-shaped float made of foam plastic, having a mass of 20 to 50 g. It must be possible to install it in the firefly antenna - this is necessary so that when fishing in the dark, the bite signal is more noticeable.

Prepare a sliding type weight, the preferred shape is olive. A carabiner is required to attach the technoplankton and hooks. The movement of the float and weight can be limited by installing silicone stoppers.

Hooks located on monofilament leashes 7-10 cm long are equipped with foam peas - this increases their buoyancy.

Sliding sinker

A sliding sinker is necessary to stop the feed (flight) of the fishing line to which the equipment is attached. This sinker is a kind of anchor that does not allow the float to move a long distance from the tackle.

In strong waves, the float with tackle will be within a drift of 2 meters relative to the bottom load.

The free passage of the fishing line through the load allows the silver carp to swallow not only the bait base, but also the hooks. In the process, the fish does not notice them until the stings dig into its lips.

Bottom tackle for silver carp in the current (how to make tackle for silver carp with your own hands?)

You can also catch silver carp from the bottom - for this you will need a trempel, but with some modifications. A 20-30 g weight is attached to its end, which adds more weight to the equipment for long-distance casting.

Technoplankton or a spring with bait porridge is put on the “tostoloba stick”. Two leashes with hooks No. 8-10 (domestic numbering) are tied to the frame of the tackle.

The leashes should be of different lengths - one is 5-7 cm, and the second is 10-15 cm. The main fishing line of the rod is attached to the trammel mounting ring using a carabiner.

For fishing with bottom tackle, a float is not used (this type of fishing is remotely similar to feeder fishing). Equipping the hooks with foam allows them to rise to the top, where they can enter the fish’s mouth when feeding.

One feature of the silver carp is the location of its lips, which do not allow it to pick up food from the bottom.

Silver carp fish: features and appearance

Some fish are given specific names due to their similarity to certain animals. The silver carp in China is nicknamed the “water goat” because it “grazes” in water and eats algae in very large quantities. They help cleanse water bodies of excess vegetation, thereby benefiting the water sector.

Characteristics

  • the presence of a large head with a massive, strongly protruding forehead , which occupies a significant part of the surface of its muzzle;
  • the lower jaw is pushed forward relative to the upper;
  • the oral fissure is located in its upper plane of the jaw;
  • the eyes are small , located below the level of the mouth;
  • along the entire length of the abdomen there is a keel;
  • the scales are small , silvery in color, and darker on the head and back;
  • the skin under the scales is dense;
  • the fins are dark against the background of the scales , each of them has characteristic pointed apexes. On the body there is one fin on the back and pre-tail part, two on its abdomen and chest.

Silver carp belongs to the category of large individuals that, under favorable conditions, can reach a weight of up to 20 kilograms with a corresponding length of over one meter.

Habitats

Initially, silver carp were brought from Chinese countries in order to clean local waters from excess aquatic vegetation. They prefer a gregarious lifestyle. It can live in various bodies of water with both running and standing water.

The main condition for their aquatic life is the presence of sufficient algae for food. Does not like strong currents.

The main habitats are:

  1. The coastal zone is rich in natural food , so the fish may not be very interested in additional complementary food. However, during a strong wind, when it carries a large amount of food in the form of algae downstream, a rich catch can be expected.
  2. At the mouths of the tributary, the water, due to its flow, is enriched with oxygen , so the fish live purely in these places. Good times for fishing come after rain or wind, when the water becomes cloudy and it becomes difficult to find food.
  3. Silver carp is a deep-deep fish, therefore, if the body of water allows, you can look for it in these places. In such situations, the use of a boat is necessary for fishing. For successful fishing, it is better to do it in cold seasons, when there is less food source.
  4. When several lakes are connected by a river, excellent natural habitat conditions for fish arise. It is important that the river is not too long because during the feast, it will be difficult to understand where is the best place to fish. Whereas in a small river it is easy to find places for bait.
  5. Starorechye . The silver carp considers for its residence only large old rivers with a small current, where a constant food supply is provided.
  6. A reservoir with a flat bottom attracts fish , but is completely unsuitable for fishing due to the difficulty of providing bait for the fish.

Float tackle with sliding float "Barilka"

This special tackle was created to allow the float to move freely along the main line.

The operating principle is as follows:

  1. To stabilize the gear in a certain area of silver carp fishing, two weights are used (on both sides of the main fishing line). One weight is located at a distance of 70 cm from the bait, and the second weight is used as an anchor.
  2. The so-called “spacer” involves moving the float along the surface of the reservoir within a radius of 2 m².
  3. Thanks to the sliding float, which facilitates self-hooking of the silver carp due to the free passage of the fishing line through its body, the hooks of the equipment easily dig into the oral cavity of the fish.

When to catch silver carp?

To successfully hunt silver carp, the following conditions are necessary;

  • water temperature 19–220С;
  • clear water (the abundance of phytoplankton in the water indicates an excess of fish food and its indifference to your bait);
  • morning and evening hours are the most promising for fishing, since the fish approaches the shore and during the day moves a considerable distance away from it;
  • depth at the fishing site is from 3 to 4 meters;
  • The fishing period of the year lasts from May to September.

Globus tackle for silver carp (tackle, bait and bait for catching silver carp)

Necessary materials:

  • Foam balls with different colors.
  • Bread crust.
  • Boiled corn, peas, wheat.
  • Mastyrka balls.
  • Pieces of leaves (plant bait).

Recommendations:

  • Silver carp prefers to live at depths not exceeding 3-4 meters.
  • Abundant fish bite is observed from the beginning of May to the end of September.
  • Good specimens swim in bodies of water that are at least 10 years old.
  • The fish is very shy and does not like excessive noise - therefore, it is necessary to behave quietly when fishing.
  • Biting time is from 9 a.m. to dark. At night it practically doesn’t bite.
  • In different bodies of water, silver carp prefers different bait and to catch it you need to have different types of not only gear, but also bait.
  • When fishing, you should not rush, because silver carp is a fairly large and strong fish.
  • A landing net is necessary.

The inverted tackle with a fixed float differs from the previous one only in that the hooks are located under the technoplankton tablet. In this case, it is advisable to put foam balls on the hooks so that they float at the level of the cloud of turbidity created.

In addition, in this case, you can use light floats and, accordingly, small loads, which makes the tackle less noticeable and the silver carp is not afraid of it at all. It can also fish through the water column, but with less efficiency.

It has the following design: The float can be purchased at the store, or you can make it yourself.

Its optimal load capacity should be in the range of 30-40 grams.

The inner hole of the bead must be smaller than the size of the stopper so that the bead rests against the stopper, and the diameter of the bead must be larger than the hole in the keel of the float so that the float rests against the bead.

It is also important that the diameter of the bead is larger than the hole in the anchor sinker so that the bead does not fly through the hole in the sinker. In the case of using large stoppers, the need for a bead may disappear, since the float will rest against the stoppers even without a bead.

Serves to protect the line assembly from impacts of the float and heavy core when casting and retrieving the tackle. The rubber bead can be replaced with a plastic one, however, this bead does not need to be installed, since hitting the knot is unlikely to lead to the line breaking.

If you are concerned that the cast should be as far as possible, don’t, but be prepared that sometimes the hooks will catch on the float or the load in flight, and then the tackle will have to be reeled out and re-cast again.

Any sliding weight, for example an olive weighing g, is placed on the fishing line directly above the silver carp stick. They should be sharp enough.

If this requirement is not met, the fish may spit them out, and in this case the desired hook will not happen. The design of equipment intended for catching silver carp is made of metal elements.

Most often, knitting needles are used or wire is used. At the moment you can find gear that is equipped with threads for technoplankton.

In terms of design, the tackle can be bottom or float. When making bottom equipment for catching silver carp with an elastic band, an important element is a spring, which is equipped with technoplankton.

  • Komsomolsk submarine list of dead
  • Buy live bait for fishing in Chertanovo
  • Buy soft baits for pike
  • Removable Lights for Boat Trailer
  • When installing equipment, it is necessary that it be powerful enough. The weight of silver carp can reach up to 35 kg.

    If a fisherman’s tackle is weak, then it simply won’t support such a big fish. When making tackle for catching silver carp with an elastic band, 3 leashes are used, each of which is 7 cm long.

    In addition, a spring is used as the main element. Since the silver carp is a large and strong fish, you need to take it out slowly so that it gets tired.

    A group of fishermen revealed the name of the secret bait during interrogation. A catchable ingredient in bait will be banned for sale in Russia. Detained poachers told the secret of catching kg of fish. Fishing inspectors were surprised by the absence of prohibited equipment.

    Spinning Float rod Feeder Fly fishing Trolling. Plants such as clover, nettles and any vegetation that grows near water can also be used as complementary food.

    Finely chop all the herbs and add a couple of coarsely grated cucumbers without skin. A weight g is attached to its end, which adds more weight to the equipment for long-distance casting.

    For fishing with bottom tackle - a float is not used - this type of fishing is similar to feeder fishing. Equipping the hooks with foam allows them to rise to the top, where they can enter the fish’s mouth when feeding.

    One feature of the silver carp is the location of its lips, which do not allow it to pick up food from the bottom. To catch wary fish, a fisherman needs to stock up on all types of equipment, because each body of water has its own characteristics.

    Like any fishing, it requires patience and hope from the fisherman. Now only mine bites.

    I caught this pike using a bite activator. The rod is most often chosen with rings.

    fishing tackle globe

    The only requirement for it is sufficient power, allowing not only to cast long-distance tackle for silver carp, but also to retrieve fairly large specimens. The first leash should be approximately 15 cm long.

    It is tied to a swivel behind the outlet. The second - two or three times shorter - is fixed on the fishing line approximately 5 cm above the upper outlet edge.

    The third, about the same size as the first, is another quarter of a meter higher.

    Catching gear and equipment for catching silver carp

    Silver carp takes bait from any of three leashes, but the largest individuals are caught on the first one. On the other two, although the bites are relatively more frequent, they catch smaller fish.

    The hooks on the bottom tackle for silver carp should be as sharp as possible, at the same time powerful, but light. After the mud has been created, it is necessary to understand what the gear intended for catching silver carp is.

    This type of tackle is a large float with a large carrying capacity. Below the float, 30 cm, there should be a feeder on which the hooks are attached.

    They should hang slightly below the feeder, so they will be right at the epicenter of the cloudy cloud. Swimming up to the feeder, the silver carp begins to filter out the turbidity, and along with it, sucks in the hooks.

    Very large hooks are ideal for catching such fish. The sinker on the silver carp killer is sliding and is located directly above the float.

    All fields are required. Fishing ban in Russia - main points to note.

    Fishing ban in Ukraine every year. Home About the site Advertiser Contacts.

    Fishing by type of fish: If fishing takes place on a river, then getting wet occurs much faster. If you notice that a silver carp is swimming on top in order to feed, then the bait should be presented so that it can float exclusively on the surface of the water.

    When choosing a bait for fishing on a float and on top, take into account what the silver carp is fed in the pond, if it is private. In my opinion, it is better in this option to use bread crumb, bread crust, and, if possible, canned corn.

    I do not recommend rolling the bread crumb into a ball when attaching it to the hook. Use a simple method - lightly press the bread with your fingers, this will be enough.

    This is because on the hook the bread should take on a soft, softened and fluffy appearance.

Silver carp

Silver carp
Silver carp (silver carp) is a large schooling fish of the carp family.

The history of the development of this type of fish originates in the Far East, but at present, silver carp has been introduced into the reservoirs of Europe and Central Asia.

Silver carp is a very good ameliorator of a reservoir, as it feeds on phytoplankton and zooplankton, filtering the water. In this regard, silver carp are often bred in reservoirs with dense underwater vegetation.

The fish has a high culinary value; fishermen have learned to make delicious balyk from silver carp and a host of other dishes.

Fishing conditions

A large amount of aquatic vegetation is one of the conditions for the presence of silver carp in a given place.

How to choose a place

  • the bottom of the reservoir should be sandy, clayey or rocky;
  • the main depth is from 2 to 2.5 meters.

The most favorable weather conditions for catching this fish are a headwind (or calm), high water temperature, warm sunny weather, and the time of day is from dawn to noon; at night, it is unlikely that you will be able to catch silver carp.

One of the most effective baits for catching silver carp is technoplankton.

What is technoplankton

Technoplankton is a special bait compressed in the shape of a barrel, used for bottom fishing. The pressed powder is a mixture of various feeds.

It has different aromas that attract silver carp, and special additives that dissolve in water and thereby create a cloudy cloud that the fish mistakes for real plankton.

Sometimes technoplankton is divided into bottom and surface species. Surface technoplankton, dissolving, creates a trail of microparticles falling down. Bottom technoplankton contains fractions that rise upward.

The operating time of such a device in a weak current is from half an hour, depending on the composition and strength of compaction. Naturally, with a rapid flow, the resorption time is much shorter. Technoplankton is sold, but many fishermen prefer to make it themselves, and more on that below.

Snaps

Universal rig
The design of the rig used for catching silver carp on technoplankton is shown above. Such equipment is mounted on both bottom and float tackle, with minor modifications.

The metal “trempel” is the basis of the equipment on which all elements are attached like a skeleton: technoplankton; leashes with hooks on which foam is mounted. The entire structure is attached to the main line.

If you look at the schematic images below, you will see that the differences between them are minimal: the bottom version is equipped with an additional sinker, and the float version is equipped with the float itself and a sliding weight on the main line. Ready-made kits can be found in fishing stores or made yourself.

Tackle

What should the tackle be like:

  1. The main requirement is that the tackle must be powerful. A carp feeder rod is suitable, and a spinning rod is also possible, but it must be very powerful.
  2. The fishing line in the reel should hold at least 100-150 meters, that is, the reel should have a spool size of 4000-5000.
  3. During fishing, silver carp produces strong jerks, so a carp line of 0.3-0.4 mm in size is best suited; it will, as it were, dampen the jerks of the fish.

All elements of the tackle must match each other, from the rod and reel to the hooks.

Bottom tackle

The bottom version of the tackle is appropriate when silver carp feeds at the bottom. The absence of a float makes it more convenient, and bites can be monitored using an alarm.

The silver carp killer rig is attached to the main line. On the trempel there are hooks equipped with foam balls, a technoplankton tablet on a pin and a weight that completes the entire structure. The silver carp, attracted by the cloud that comes from technoplankton, begins to feed on it, and sucks in the hook along with the food.

Float tackle works on a similar principle.

Float tackle

Float tackle and equipment
If silver carp sticks to the middle or upper layers of water, float tackle will have an advantage over the bottom one. With it you can fish any floor, including the bottom one.

Here two sinkers are used: one is sliding, in order to sink the main line, and the other is to load the float. The descent (fishing depth) is regulated by a stop bead on which the sliding float will stop. The “silver carp killer” rig is attached under the float loading.

This scheme is not mandatory. Float tackle for silver carp, like bottom tackle, can be constructed in a different way.

DIY technoplankton

Making technoplankton

To make technoplankton, you need molds, although there is a recipe for making it without them. There are a huge number of recipes for the mixture from which technoplankton is made, but the main role in any of them will be played by the smell and ability of the mixture to generate dust.

Since the material is designed for an untrained fisherman, we will use the simplest options for preparing technoplankton with our own hands

Without abs

How to make technoplankton from a ready-made mixture (without a press):

To form the mixture you will need a plastic device similar to a mold, but if you get the hang of it, you can do everything by hand. Here, strong pressure is not required - the whole secret is in the syrup, which is added to the mixture, and which sticks it together after drying.

The mixture can be charged into the feeder in a moistened form, and the dried balls are put on the trempel through the hole like ordinary technoplankton. Drying takes a week or more, so technoplankton should be prepared in advance.

Technoplankton can be dried in the microwave

As you understand, it is not necessary to use a ready-made mixture from the store. You can make it yourself from simple and affordable ingredients - pea flour, breadcrumbs and milk powder mixed in equal parts.

A simple recipe for bottom technoplankton:

Here, a press is used to mold technoplankton, but if we mix the mixture with the syrup from the previous recipe, then we won’t need it.

Features of catching silver carp

There are no special secrets in catching silver carp; the main thing is well-functioning gear and the right place. If you are fishing with technoplankton, you need to know the approximate rate of its dissolution in order to replace it in time.

In many cases, bottom gear is used to catch silver carp, but as we said above, if the fish sticks to the upper layers of water, a float version of the equipment may be more effective. Since float tackle is more universal, it is most often used.

Fishing for silver carp using technoplankton:

Fishing for silver carp using technoplankton

Technoplakton is a “barrel” of dry pressed mixture, which is put on the equipment and during casting (placement in water) gradually dissolves - forming a cloud of fine bait dust.

It is this cloud with a certain smell that attracts a school of silver carp to feed.

The prepared feed base swells in factory conditions within 2-3 hours.

“Barrels” of bait are adapted for mounting on a trempel. Hooks in this case can be used in different ways.

In one case, they are equipped with bait (of a plant and animal nature), and in another, sharper hooks are inserted into the body of a solid bait.

Groundbait and bait for catching silver carp

Properly prepared bait is probably the main component of the success of catching silver carp.

The composition is not particularly important, the main purpose of the bait is to create a cloud of turbidity, and the larger and more noticeable it is, the greater the chance of attracting the attention of the fish.

There are two types of bait prepared:

  • light (used at the beginning of fishing);
  • heavy (more moist, used during fishing, when the fish has approached the fishing area, in order to keep it in one place).

When preparing a common bait option yourself, you will need:

  • wheat flour;
  • powdered milk;
  • bran;
  • vanillin;
  • molehill soil or sand.
  • dishes for mixing bait.

To prepare bait you need:

  • mix all ingredients;
  • add water;
  • knead;
  • make balls the size of a large apple.

Tip: when preparing balls of light bait, the dry mixture is covered with a wet one, this will allow the dry particles to float to the surface when the bait reaches the bottom, forming a column of turbidity. It is also recommended to add white dye, milk powder, and flour to the bait.

The use of light dyes increases the visibility of the bait table for fish. If you added too much water when preparing the bait, foam will help correct the situation (using foam balls will make the bait balls loose).

When fishing in the current, prepare bait with a dense consistency, and with a decrease in the flow speed, the density is reduced and the looseness increases.

As bait you can use:

  • thinly sliced fresh cucumber;
  • clover leaves;
  • foam balls (when using bottom equipment);
  • young nettle leaves;
  • watermelon rind;
  • young reed leaves.

How to catch silver carp using the “silver carp killer”?

Easy to use, this is the “silver carp killer” float tackle. It consists of a float and a universal trempel.

To keep them at a short distance from each other (30-40 cm), a strong fishing line or thread is used, which is tied to their fastening rings.

Both technoplankton and porridge can be used as complementary food (a spring is put on). As a rule, foam plastic is attached to two hooks of the tackle (2-3 balls for each).

There are no special requirements for a fishing rod for casting tackle, the main thing is sufficient length and a high test indicator. Once assembled, the tackle is easily attached to the main line using a retractable leash with a carabiner.

The casting occurs at the expected location of the fish. Preliminary feeding of the place, as for bottom tackle, is unnecessary.

It is necessary to attach technoplankton or “hammer” the spring with porridge, place foam balls on the hooks and cast the tackle.

A massive float holds the bait in the upper layer of water.

One nuance of this gear is its buoyancy.

When fishing on large waves, it quickly changes its location, which forces the fisherman to re-cast it often.

Thanks to the large float, the bite can be seen from a long distance. Considering the serious size of silver carp, fishing is carried out slowly.

What to catch silver carp with: bait

To attract fish interest, it is necessary to make an unusual bait that will imitate the smallest algae and arouse the fish’s appetite with its appearance.

An effective bait is a mixture of geysers with a variety of food, which rises from the bottom in the form of dust, to which silver carp react.

Types of bait

The bait should create turbidity in the water, because it is this fact that attracts fish to it.

The bait can consist of plankton, with a geyser component, which is usually purchased, or it can be made independently from available products.

Groundbait recipe

You can successfully use peas, both young and canned, as bait that you make yourself.

You need to worry about the latter in advance. To do this you need:

  1. Take the required amount of peas that are supposed to be preserved.
  2. Boil for some time - from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the ripeness of the product.
  3. Divide into jars.
  4. Pour boiling water after boiling peas.
  5. Roll up the cans.
