- Summer has come...
- What are you expecting from June?
Even by Siberian standards, May turned out to be very cold and snowy and rainy. I think each of us looks at the calendar with hope and, in anticipation of summer weather, makes our fishing plans for the next month. Let's analyze “News from Reservoirs” for June 2017, and consider the nuances of catching certain types of fish, in order to be fully armed in June 2018.
Tackle, bait and other fishing secrets in June
We continue the series of publications about fishing, which, as you know, has nuances in each month of the year.
The first month of calendar summer is a great time for fishing. But it is worth remembering that June is the month of the ongoing spawning ban for many species of fish, so we recommend checking the calendar of bans in your region.
Why is fishing in June the best?
Any experienced fisherman knows: June is convenient primarily because you can fish with almost any tackle. If you are a fan of the traditional rod and float, then June is your month. If you like spinning, then June may well bring a rich catch. Any gear will give results.
In June, aquatic vegetation grows strongly. What is the fish that has already spawned doing? That's right, she begins to eat intensively. When fishing in June, a wide variety of baits are used.
It is not yet so hot in June, the water has not warmed up as it will in July and August, so most fish stay closer to the grass, in shallow, sun-warmed places. Larger and more careful fish choose their parking lot near grass thickets. There is food and shelter from numerous enemies. Knowing these nuances and skillfully choosing bait, the angler can count on the fact that fishing in June will bring him a lot of pleasant moments.
Who and what to catch?
It is generally accepted that pike perch, pike perch, pike and perch are best caught in June. Towards the end of June, after spawning, carp become more active.
It is recommended to catch rudd with a float rod at the beginning of summer, using a fly, grasshopper, or maggot as bait. In June, before spawning, bream willingly go after worms and molting crayfish.
At the beginning of summer, pike, large perch and medium-sized pike perch bite on live bait along the edges of grassy thickets, the abundance of which appears in June.
Fishing for roach will be more successful if you catch caddis flies, maggots, bread crumbs, and semolina dough.
In June, carp are successfully caught with a bottom hook, especially if you catch it near a hole or on the edge. Fishing with circles and tracks is good for zander, pike and perch. Donks are also perfect for night hunting at a decent depth for pike perch or gudgeon.
How and when to catch? Unique calendar!
In order for fishing to be successful in June, you need to know not only what kind of fish bites during this period, but also how the fish bites. There are a variety of lunar and other fishing calendars. We will give you one of them, which provides information about June fishing in a simplified form.
From the fish-biting calendar in June it is clearly seen that in the first half of June chub, ruffe, asp and crucian carp, large perch, gudgeon, roach, carp and pike-perch bite well. But the most active bite in June (what is called zhor, which is understandable to anyone) is for other fish.
Fishing in June
Two or three trips ashore in May brought no results other than a runny nose and the proud title of “Owner of the Dirtiest Car of the Year,” which I received during the annual ceremony of announcing the nominees on the black rubber track at the nearest car wash. It was beyond my strength to endure the fishing itch, I boarded a plane and flew off on a business trip, into the warmth. Kuban, Don, Black and Azov Seas, Don herring, sabrefish, catfish, bersh, chub, mullet, +28°C, cherries are ripening, acacia is blooming. Large red crayfish under light unfiltered, Azov fish soup in mugs and huge Rostov-style kebabs under “foggy” (I hope my employer won’t read this).
But my journey ends, and my soul longs to go to Siberia, (I hope it’s already warmer there) to Suzun with a spinning rod for the first June pike perch and pike, to catch carp on the lakes and ponds with a feeder, on the reservoir - bream, ide, perch, at worst , on the lake closest to the dacha, catch crucian carp on a float tackle or chebak on the river while waiting for the spawning ban to be lifted. Let's remember what to use to catch different fish in June, where to look for it in the reservoir, what gear to use, because June fishing, which is already “full summer”, differs from fishing in the spring during high water.
Fishing calendar in June
From the fish-biting calendar in June it is clearly seen that in the first half of June chub, ruffe, asp and crucian carp, adult perch, gudgeon, roach, carp and pike perch bite well. But the most active bite is in June (zhor) for other fish - they bite like crazy in June: catfish, ide, rudd, bleak, silver bream, dace, tench. But it will be more difficult to catch pike in June - the pike bite is weak throughout the month. But this is better than the lack of bite for bream, bream (in the first half of June) and pike perch (in the second half of June)

Perch fishing in June
At the beginning of summer, the striped fish is already actively feeding. At sunrise, June perch gathers in fairly large schools and begins hunting both in shallow water and at considerable depths. The predator actively moves after the fry, crushes the school from below, snatching out the least efficient fish. The water in this place begins to boil, the fry jumps out of the water like a fan. You can catch perch in such boilers using any artificial bait: spinners, wobblers, jigs, and their combinations. An example of such a tandem would be, for example, a combination of jig tackle with a wobbler on a retractable leash, or the use of two differently loaded silicone baits. Sometimes I use a large popper, and instead of the back tee I tie two leashes with slightly weighted twisters or tubes. In a school of perch, there is usually intense competition caused by the large number of species and the wild appetite of individuals. The movement of a large popper is perceived by the rest of the flock as an attack, and the flock is ready to take its prey from its fellow tribesman. Very often, a bite on one hook and fishing is accompanied by a bite on the second, and a school of three to five more fish accompanies those caught right up to the side of the boat in the hope of profiting. Below you will find two reports, each good in its own way: Large perch on a jig: “Fishing in the Tomsk region”
A successful outing for perch: “Morning on the Ob.”
In large water areas, binoculars will help you find perch. Through the eyepieces you see several boats standing in a circle and fishermen on them actively fishing for perches - you know - they have found a boiler. Fly to them at full throttle - there is enough fish for everyone, and the bite is fleeting, their screams and animated gestures are the usual invitation of the natives to share fishing happiness with them, and there you will learn (if you speak the local dialect) what fishing solidarity and Siberian hospitality are. With the eye that will open after meeting the paddle of a fellow hobbyist, look through the binoculars again. Don't look for fishermen anymore, look for seagulls. Seagulls see the cauldrons, scream, circle over them, and attack from above both the victim and the attackers.
Fishing in June for crucian carp
In June, you should look for crucian carp near aquatic vegetation - duckweed, water lilies, lilies, reeds, cattails, etc. In large reservoirs it stands at depths of over one and a half meters, but in small reservoirs it can be found throughout the entire water area. Crucian carp is not a big fan of overly warm water, which means that it is best to catch it in the morning or evening dawn, but during the day it tries to go deeper or hides in the shadows. They catch it using corn, dough, bread, pearl barley, semolina, worms, and maggots. This is interesting: Fishing for crucian carp in June

Fishing for pike perch in June
In June, I caught the fanged predator in essentially only two ways: in the daytime with a jig, and in the dark, more often on riffles, with wobblers. When fishing from a boat, it’s good to have an echo sounder with you - dumps, edges, ridges, rocky “navels” at the bottom are a common place for pike perch to ambush. A tough but sensitive fast spinning rod, a strong cord, a set of silicone baits and various weights is a daily set of gear. At night you will need a warm wading suit, a headlamp, the same spinning rod with a reel, and a set of large floating wobblers with a slight depth.
I’ve never caught pike perch by trolling before, I mean, no matter how much I tried, I never caught one. Last June, the stars aligned: I had free time, a motor boat, a trolling specialist and my desire to try a new method of fishing for me. A trolling wobbler was specially purchased, and during the first “retrieval” it was used to lift an EXPENSIVE trolling wobbler from a well-known American company, previously drowned by someone, and using the caught wobbler, a pike perch weighing almost 5 kg was caught. The trophy for OVH is, of course, valid, but it turned out to be a very difficult quest. In June, after the ban is lifted, I will definitely try again, a trophy wobbler is waiting in the wings in the box.
A worthy report on pike perch fishing in June: “The long-awaited discovery on the Ob River.”
Fishing in June on the feeder
On large bodies of water, where it is almost useless to look for large fish near the shore with a float rod, it is better to use bottom tackle with a feeder. A feeder is ideal for these purposes; it can be equipped with feeders of any weight and volume, while changing the multi-colored whips to the ones most suitable for a particular weight.
First, you need to study the bottom topography by dragging a lead weight along it. Then, as soon as at least a small hole, edge or deep drop is discovered, you should feed this place generously. Soon bream, carp, crucian carp, ide, silver bream, trophy roach, and carp will certainly come here.

Pike fishing in June
How to catch June pike? Actually, nothing complicated if you have a minimum set of gear for spinning fishing. The June pike is active; a decrease in biting is observed only during the day in hot sunny weather. In drizzling rain, low clouds and a breeze, pike can bite all day long. You need to look for it everywhere in a body of water; it can stand under the shore at the edge of vegetation, it can lie in ambush during irrigation, it can lie under a steep bank in a dense snag, at the mouths of streams and tributaries. The splashes accompanying the predator's attack will reveal its location.
At the beginning of June, there is a slight decline in pike activity after the spring feast. Some explain this by the molting of the predator’s teeth, they say, the teeth fall out, the June pike cannot hold onto prey until new ones grow and therefore does not hunt. I want to refute these statements and prove that the process of changing teeth in pike occurs year-round, and “loose” teeth in pike can be seen at different times of the year. When preparing the head of a pike for making a stuffed animal, I trim the gum and use a sharp tool to pry and straighten the teeth that are still hidden in the tissues of the lower jaw. If you cut through the gum tissue, you can see a number of new teeth of different sizes, from ready-made teeth to small needles. As they “cut through,” the old teeth fall out and this process continues continuously.
Pike are caught in June mainly with spinning rods - with artificial baits: spinners, silicone, wobblers, foam fish and mandules. The most spectacular bites, in my opinion, occur on poppers or Croatian eggs.
Here is a dramatic report on the capture of the river beauty: “New record for pike.”
In the summer, pike can also be caught using girders; catching live bait, I think, will not be difficult for anyone.
Fishing in June with spinning rod
Spinners will not be bored in June. Pike, pike perch, perch, asp, and sabrefish can be caught well with any artificial bait, and especially lucky anglers will be lucky enough to catch catfish. In the southern regions of our country, the lucky ones may also include trout in their catches.
They are caught mainly with small spinners and spinners, as well as silicone baits that have become especially popular in recent years - twisters, vibrating tails, imitations of insects, frogs, crayfish, etc. If the predator is in no hurry to grab the bait you offer, then you can try to seduce him with “exotic” things - rubber octopuses, wet large flies, etc.
Fishing for crucian carp in June
Fishing for crucian carp in June and in general in summer is somewhat different from early spring. In summer, crucian carp are no longer drawn to warm water in the coastal zone; they look for places with cooler water, at depth. Crucian carp, especially large ones, go to the shore less often to feed, since with the growth of aquatic vegetation there is enough food even at depth. It bites on baits of both animal origin and plant baits.
Below is an example of successful fishing indicating the location: “Crucian carp in the Kuibyshev region”, and here is the recipe for preparing the bait: “For mastyrka” .
I note that when fishing for crucian carp, it is advisable to use bait.
Fishing in June: who, what and how to catch
Fishing in June, contrary to popular belief, is no less interesting than in May. And if you know a number of features of fishing in June, then the fishing trophies will be more than worthy.
Let's figure out what's good about fishing in June, what kind of fish to catch in June, what to fish for in June. We will also learn about the peculiarities of fishing for certain types of fish in June: catfish fishing in June, pike fishing in June, perch fishing in June, pike perch fishing in June, bream fishing in June, carp fishing in June, ide fishing in June, crucian carp fishing in June.
Fisherman's calendar for June
Why is June good for fishing and what is remarkable about fishing in June? In June it is not yet so hot and most fish stay closer to the grass, in shallow, sun-warmed places. Larger fish, and therefore more careful, choose their parking lot near grass thickets, cluttered places, and so on. Here you will find food and shelter from numerous enemies.
Knowing these nuances and skillfully choosing bait, the angler can count on the fact that fishing in June will bring him a lot of pleasant moments. With an increase in the average daily temperature in June and, accordingly, the water temperature, the fish become lethargic. Traditionally, pike fishing, especially large pike, deteriorates at the end of June. She goes deep. As a rule , fishing in June at this time is better in cluttered areas near water thickets, in flooded stream beds, in pools and holes. If you take a pike in such a place, then after a while a relative will take its place, so there is no point in changing the location often. By the end of June, other large fish also bite reluctantly, settling at depth.
The best fish for catching in June are pike perch , bersh, pike and perch . Towards the end of the month, carp become more active after spawning. Catching catfish can be very exciting . Catfish fishing is good in June - before spawning, catfish are caught both with live bait, molting crayfish, and shell meat. When the water is already warming up well, tench, crucian carp and rudd begin to spawn. They spawn for quite a long time, in several stages, so their fishing is unstable. It is activated between spawning and stops when spawning is in full swing.
How can you fish in June without the arrival of mayflies? In the second half of June, the peak of reproduction of the mayfly moth occurs - the emergence of the mayfly. Countless clouds of insects fly out to play at night in the water, eventually ending up in it. All non-predatory fish happily eat moths and fill themselves up for several days in advance, so that in the coming days it becomes useless to catch them.

Carp fishing in June
Fishing for carp in June will bring a lot of pleasant moments. The best time to catch carp fish is primarily determined by weather conditions. This explains why summer is considered the main time for carp fishing . A good carp bite in June begins after the end of spawning, that is, in the first days of June.
After cold weather or prolonged heat, carp hide in their shelters in June and lose their appetite. But in thunderstorms and cloudy warm weather with light rain, the fish takes bait perfectly. When the water in the reservoirs warms up enough, this fish begins to move towards streams or springs. Typically, in June, carp burrow into dense underwater vegetation or hide under roots and in burrows. In summer, in lakes or ponds, you should look for carp in the shade of reeds. With high daytime air temperatures in June, carp come out to feed only at night.
Fishing for crucian carp in June
Fishing for crucian carp in June is simple and straightforward. In June, crucian carp in almost all reservoirs stays close to the border of aquatic vegetation. The favorite plants of crucian carp are water lilies, egg capsules, water lilies and reeds. In large river bays and large reservoirs with calm water, crucian carp in June lives at a depth of more than 1.5 m. This fish likes moderate or weak currents. Also, crucian carp does not like too warm water. In hot weather, the fish moves into the shade. Consequently, crucian carp in June actively feed only in the cool of the evening or morning. Most often, crucian carp is caught in June using float gear and donks. Many people catch June crucian carp using millet, wheat grains, boiled or steamed pearl barley, dough and bread crumb . Large crucian carp are more conservative in June. He bites on worms or sandwiches with them.

Pike fishing in June
Fishing for pike in June will require patience and luck from the angler. Pike fishing in June has its own characteristics. An active and stable pike bite can be observed until mid-June. In the second half of June, with the arrival of heat, the bite weakens and the pike decreases its activity.
, the use of poppers and wobblers with rattles gives good results . At the end of June, it is recommended to use small, 5-7 cm, and narrow oscillating spoons. With their help, it is possible to get at least small individuals. The color preferences of pike are white, red, black . The color of the spinner is usually selected based on the color of the water in the pond. For clear water, dark colors will be good; for cloudy water, bright, light colors will be good . During periods of least pike activity, the presence of an echo sounder and a boat increases the chance of returning with a catch. First of all, they fish places that could potentially serve as shelter for pike: various holes, places where water lilies accumulate, etc.

Perch fishing in June
Fishing for perch in June is not the easiest, but very exciting. After spawning in June, the perch is distributed throughout the reservoir and becomes less picky in its choice of food. So when fishing in June, you can use a variety of baits to catch perch. The most active perches are from 300 to 500 grams; larger ones will be more careful in choosing food. a fisherman to use a boat ; it is wiser to take a vertical spoon . The boat, as a rule, sets off for free sailing in the wind; the bait should move almost at the very bottom without touching it, making sharp twitches with the rod. Seasoned fish happily take live bait, ignoring artificial bait. Artificial baits include wobblers, twisters and slowly rotating spoons . Sometimes you can see perches chasing the fry. Then it is better to throw a floating or slowly sinking wobbler into this place. The color of the bait does not matter, but it is better when there is no big difference with the color of the fish.

What to fish in June
The good thing about the summer month of June is that you can fish with almost any gear .
Expanse for lovers of fishing with a float rod, and for spinning anglers, and for those who respect donkey fishing, etc. Fishing in June is possible with any gear - we’ll briefly tell you what kind of fish, what gear and what bait is best to catch in June. In June, aquatic vegetation grows strongly.
Fish that have already spawned begin to feed intensively. Many fish change the time of their diet in June - they feed only in the mornings and evenings. When fishing in June, a wide variety of baits are used. For example, in June, roaches are well caught using thin algae, which at this time are abundant on stones and other water bodies. In June, pike perch and pike perch are caught using molting crayfish, small fish and even worms and meat. In June, bream are caught on a worm, roach on bread, semolina or maggot, chub goes well on a caterpillar.
What fish to catch in June with a float rod
- On a float rod in lakes near snags, pike perch for small fish; in rivers it is more often found near whirlpools and steep cliffs.
- pike , large perch and medium-sized pike perch bite on live bait along the edges of grassy thickets, the abundance of which appears in June.
- Fishing for small perch in June is good using worms and maggots.
- Fishing in June for roach is more successful if you catch caddis flies, maggots, bread crumbs, semolina dough.
- Tench and crucian carp are also actively pecking on worms and maggots .
- Fishing for rudd in June is good with flies, grasshoppers, and maggots.
- spawning , bream willingly go after worms and molting crayfish.
What kind of fish to catch in June during fishing
- Fishing for roach and chub is more successful if you use steamed cereal grains, maggots and greens as bait.
- Bream prefers peas, worms and the same maggot.

Fishing in June with donka, circles and tracks
In June, carp are successfully caught with a bottom hook, especially if you catch it near a hole or on the edge.
- Fishing with circles and tracks is good for zander, pike and perch .
- Donks are also perfect for night hunting at a decent depth for pike perch or gudgeon.
Fishing for carp and carp in June
If crucian carp bites during spawning (sometimes you catch it in the morning, and by lunchtime you can hear the fish rubbing and the reeds shaking), then the carp does not satisfy its needs for food and procreation at the same time. Before spawning, he feeds heavily, and afterward he is apathetic and even indifferent to any food offered.
The little snowy Siberian May of 2021, I think, will shift the timing of carp spawning, which under normal conditions takes place in the first ten days of June, and I will still be able to catch its pre-spawning feast. Carp often live quite far from the shore; they only come closer to feed. A prerequisite for successful fishing is the presence of bait. Serious carp fishing has not yet reached Siberia (which is most likely due to our climate: low survival rate and slow growth of fish in winter do not make it possible to stock water bodies with quality fish), but in the South and in the Central part of Russia this trend has been in the fishing industry for ten years Fishing is practiced by both professionals and amateurs.
Our athletes are already successfully competing with fishermen from Europe at international carp fishing competitions. And on May 12 of this year, the “Carp Fishing 2018” festival took place, within the framework of which professional carp fishermen held 3 master classes for those interested, in which they covered the issues of preparing bait for carp, methods of installing gear, and choosing a place for carp fishing.
Details in this video:
And here is a detailed report from several chapters with a prologue, a bloody plot and an epilogue: “Sartlan, Sazan. And my Trophy" .
Fishing for carp in June
After the end of spawning, the carp goes hunting, at which time the water warms up to above 10 degrees. The period of active fishing begins. Fish lose their appetite during periods of cold weather or persistently hot weather. During thunderstorms, carp remain active.
In the first month of summer, fishing is especially successful in cloudy weather with sparse precipitation. If the temperature drops sharply, the bite may stop.
Experienced fishermen advise not to limit yourself to a conventional fishing rod or equipment for bottom hunting when planning carp fishing. There is a possibility that the search for fish will have to start at shallow depths
.
Carp are picky about bait, so to attract it, you should try a variety of feeding, placing it away from the shore, focusing on the location of the bait. The quantity should be small so that the fish does not lose interest. It is recommended to choose a small amount of fresh bait and a more nutritious bait.
What do carp bite on in June? The best option is peas, worms, steamed wheat, maggots, corn. Boilies give good results - this is an artificially created bait with a complex composition, which includes special flavors, proteins and amino acids.
Fishing for white fish in June
You can catch roach and other white peaceful fish in the summer in different ways: bream and ide go well on the bottom, and smaller ones on float tackle - roach, chebak, dace, and sorog. The “bel” is also not picky about the bait - worm, maggot, dough, cereal.
Here is a short report from last year about catching white fish on a feeder within the city: “Just below Matveevka.”
As teenagers, on Birdie we fished with gear that I would now call “dead fly fishing”: a 4-5 meter light rod, thin line and a small sharp hook. Insects were used as bait - a butterfly, a grasshopper, a fly. Neither a sinker nor a float is required - they only make the tackle heavier. The most difficult thing is to cast, and then, rolling up your pants, you walk through the shallow water following the bait floating on the surface and, you know, you pull anemic-pale chebaks and golden red-finned magpies out of the water.
By the way, in the South, in the Don basin (where I am at the moment), there is a great variety of white fish; in addition to the species known to us, there are also saberfish, bluefish, vimba, black and white carp, podust and mustard. The locals catch mostly the same methods as we do - a feeder, a float, and from a boat with an onboard fishing rod for bream “for eggs.” Asp and chub with a spinning rod on a wobbler.
During the spawning migration of herring, the entire coastline of the Don in Rostov reminded me of the pandemonium that I had seen only below the hydroelectric dam on the left bank of the Ob. Azov herring is caught with a rubber band or spinning rod. A piece of white insulation or foil tape is placed on a double or tee with a long shank to imitate sprat - the main component of the diet of the Black Sea and Azov herring. Up to five of these hooks are made on short leashes; a weight is tied to the end and cast not far from the shore. Although the fish is not large, it fights back vigorously. With one retrieve you can pull out a whole garland of herrings shimmering with all the colors of the rainbow.
Where to fish in June
You can fish in June throughout the day, as well as at night, but the best time is early morning and evening dawn. Among the baits, both plant and animal baits are used:
- worm,
- maggot,
- insect larvae,
- corn,
- bread,
- pearl barley, etc.
It would be a good idea to use grasshoppers and numerous flying insects that live in the immediate vicinity of water bodies as bait - flies, gadflies, dragonflies, various beetles and others.
When searching for fish, it is necessary to take into account a number of factors characteristic of a particular species:
- You should look for pike near thickets of grass, and pike perch in open water without vegetation.
- Gustera likes to stand close to the krutoyars.
- Small representatives of cyprinids stay in shallow depths near the shore, where there is a muddy bottom.
- Bream is looked for at depths with a clay bottom.
- Burbot - under snags and near the steep bank.
- The asp is identified by the noisy clapping of its tail on the surface of the water, where it drowns out small fish.
With the appearance of filamentous algae (or “greenweed”, as anglers call it), roach, as well as ide and chub, begin to actively peck at it, which are also caught by fly fishing for insects, choosing clean sections of the river with medium and fast currents.
About fishing in Astrakhan
In June, the rivers of Astrakhan reach high flood levels, which last until the middle of the month, and then begin to quickly subside. As soon as this happens, active biting begins for most species of fish, but the main trophy at the beginning of the month is considered to be herring, which begins to move from the Caspian Sea to the spawning areas. Asp, pike perch, bream, and roach are also beginning to show activity.

Fishing on the Volga
The Volga, one of the richest rivers in Russia, will delight anglers with large carp, trophy bream, numerous roaches, as well as predators - pike, pike perch, perch, bream, catfish. Fans of float fishing can expect rich catches of crucian carp, rudd, and silver bream. Spinning anglers can try to catch one of the most finicky and timid fish that never lets anglers get too close to them - the asp.
Catfish is GIANT! The biggest fish in life. Fishing for trophy catfish video
What's the bite on the Don River?
The Don is one of the largest rivers in the southern region. In June you can catch almost any fish here. Roach, crucian carp, silver bream, and sabrefish are actively biting on the fishing float. Spinning anglers are pleased to catch pike perch, pike, perch, and asp. Fans of bottom gear can be confident in catching carp, carp, large ide, and catfish. They can fish both from the shore and from a boat. Read also: Fishing on the Don River
Where to fish in June in the Moscow region
In the Moscow region, as soon as the water warms up to 20 degrees, underwater vegetation begins to appear, among which small crustaceans, insect larvae, worms, rotifers, mollusks, which are the main food for most species of peaceful fish - grass carp, crucian carp, carp, carp, roach, bream, etc. All main types of predatory fish are caught using spinning rods - pike, pike perch, and perch.
Fishing in June in the Leningrad region
Fishing in the Leningrad region in June is not much different from fishing in the Moscow region. As soon as the water warms up to the desired temperature and underwater vegetation appears, and reeds and cattails turn green along the coastline, active biting begins for almost all types of peaceful fish - bream, carp, crucian carp, roach, rudd, bleak and others. Despite the high temperature, predators will be active just like in spring - pike, pike perch, bersh, perch.
Summer has come...
We are all looking forward to summer. We want to sit at dawn on a crucian lake with a fishing rod, watching the fog settle on the grass, turning into drops sparkling in the sun. We want to plow the waters of the “river-sea” in search of perch and pike perch, and when it gets really hot, moor to a sand spit and swim. We want to look for pike in a small river near the village at sunset, when the stuffiness of a hot summer day gives way to the gentle coolness of the evening. We want to stand on the rifts in complete darkness and admire the illumination of the Bugrinsky Bridge.
I hope all this will still happen this year.
How do fish bite in June?
A variety of baits are used. Roaches are caught using thin threads of algae, which can be found in abundance in reservoirs, and pieces of bread, maggots, and semolina. Perch and pike perch prefer worms, meat products, small fish, and molting crayfish. Caterpillars are good for harvesting for chub fishing. For bream you need to stock up on worms.
Best fishing spots in June:
- pits, whirlpools;
- cluttered areas, near which there are thickets;
- flooded stream beds.
There is no need to change locations too often. If you catch a pike in a good place, hidden from view, then after some time a relative will occupy the territory.
June is not complete without the emergence of mayflies. When insect reproduction peaks, in the second half of the month, at night, clouds of one-day moths fly to the surface of the water. Many of them drown, and non-predatory fish remain well-fed, so catching them for several days is pointless.
Fishing for bream and ide in June
After spawning, large bream and ide again go to their permanent summer camps - holes and dumps near the riverbed. You can only get them from the shore with a feeder, or by fishing from a boat with a ring. By the way, fishing with a ring, or using a “combine” , is probably the most productive method. Don't forget about the catch norm - 10 kg.
The bream is less careful, and often falls for a regular fishing rod from the shore if you have baited the place well. Ide can also be lured from the depths in the early morning dawn and caught in the retrieve using a grasshopper, worm, maggot, or, towards the end of June, using dough and chatterbox.
The main thing is to make the right bait, which will be washed out evenly, attract fish from afar and keep it on point. If you want to catch a large fish from the shore using a fishing rod, be quiet and fish without fuss.
Carp
Fishing in June is associated with carp fishing. Its spawning ends at the end of May. After ten days he begins to actively feed.
Everyone knows perfectly well how voracious carps are. Very often, when fishing for crucian carp, carp are caught at this time. They take greedily, so targeted fishing for this fish is very productive.
Carp are caught using plant and animal baits: corn, peas, boilies, worms, maggots. They feed him everything they can: feed, pellets, cereals and store-bought mixtures. His mouth is so large that he sucks up all the food lying at the bottom.
