History of Poklonnaya Gora
The first mentions of Poklonnaya Hill date back to 1368-1370, or more precisely to the time of the Lithuanian-Moscow War. In 1368, the Lithuanian prince Olgerd set out on his first campaign against Moscow, and if you believe the chronicles, he did not succeed - after standing for three days under the walls of the Moscow Kremlin, he set off on the return journey. Then, in 1591, it was on Poklonnaya Hill that the Crimean Khan of Gaza II Giray, who also wanted to conquer Moscow, stopped and turned back. But the most famous tourist who made his mark here was, of course, Napoleon, who sat and waited for the keys to the city to be brought to him, then, however, he also went home. If you look at the history of Poklonnaya Gora, it turns out that everyone who came to Russia during the war and stayed on Poklonnaya Gora returned back without a slurp - just some kind of unique place!
