A new park, Zaryadye, has opened in Moscow. The park is located in the very center, not far from Red Square, on the site of the old Rossiya Hotel. All over Russia heard about Zaryadye Park in Moscow thanks to the news in which Zaryadye is called a “miracle of engineering” and a “unique project.” What's so interesting about it?

Walk through Zaryadye Park
It’s worth noting right away that the park is very modest in size. Other Moscow parks, such as Gorky Park, Sokolniki, VDNH, Tsaritsyno, are 10-20 times larger than this. You shouldn’t expect to walk here like in a forest, sitting in the shade of trees and listening to the birds. It was built on a small plot of land on the site of a demolished hotel in the center of Moscow. The trees have not yet grown and there are busy streets on all sides.
entrance to the park
How much does it cost to enter Zaryadye Park? The entrance is free. But since the park has just opened, there are queues at the entrance. Everyone goes through a metal detector and you will be asked to open your bags. There is no need to be annoyed by this, because all this is done for the safety of visitors.
They say that such inspection will only be carried out for the first time, until the excitement subsides. Now crowds of Muscovites and tourists come to the park at any time of the day. We specifically went for a walk on a weekday morning, but there were still a lot of people.
Media center
Immediately after entering, you can get acquainted with the interactive history of the park in a large black ball. There, using special tablets, you read QR codes and study the information. It was difficult to get into this ball because of the crowd, so we walked further and went out to the square in front of the media center.
Media center
You can go to the media center, but apparently nothing is ready yet. There are only a few short film screenings about Moscow.
The cost of the session is about 500 rubles. But even if you don't plan to watch a movie, it will be interesting to just go inside. There are designer ceilings, a gift shop, and a toilet (free). By the way, we didn’t notice any other toilets on the territory.
Floating Bridge
Next we went to look for the famous “floating bridge” - the main attraction of Zaryadye. We heard that the bridge is going to be included in the Guinness Book of Records.
Floating (over the road and river) bridge in Zaryadye
While there are a lot of people, traffic on the bridge was made one-way. That is, all people enter from one side, move along the bridge in one direction and exit near the dome. The process is controlled by police officers.
Comfortable benches were built along the perimeter of the bridge. Even with a large crowd of people there is always a place to sit

The Kremlin and the Bolshoi Moskvoretsky Bridge
The extreme point of the floating bridge is the most popular place for photos. Photo against the backdrop of the Moscow River and...
On the other side there is a view of the Bolshoy Ustinsky Bridge and one of the “Stalinist high-rises” - a residential building on Kotelnicheskaya Embankment

The dome of the concert hall and the Church of the Conception of St. Anne
Glass Mountain
On one side, under the dome, there will be a new concert hall. And the other part of the “mountain” is a green hill and a summer amphitheater.
We approach the dome. People here relax and sunbathe on benches
From here you have a great view of the Kremlin
It’s still stuffy under the dome and there’s nothing interesting. According to the developers, it will be warm here in winter
You can walk along the path under the dome. Flowerbeds and plants are still being planted. It will probably be beautiful next spring. Then the path suddenly ends and you will have to trample the grass further.
Concert hall
The Moscow Zaryadye Concert Hall, which opened on September 8, 2021, is an original technological solution for a cultural space. The acoustics of the hall were designed by Japanese engineer Yasuhisa Toyota. According to conductor Valery Gergiev, who gave a classical music concert at the opening of the concert hall, the sound quality here exceeds the capabilities of the Mussorgsky Hall at the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg.
The peculiarity of the hall is its ability to transform. It can be used for events of various sizes and directions. The only thing that remains unchanged is the high level of technical equipment and equipment of the premises. Two underground and four above-ground floors were built. Two halls, Large and Small, can accommodate almost two thousand spectators, and the same number of seats are provided in the open air - the Amphitheater platforms, carefully covered with a glass crust.

Observation deck on Rostov embankment
The observation deck on the Rostov embankment is an intimate and little-known place on the high bank of the Moscow River near the Bogdan Khmelnitsky Bridge.
The site boasts views of Europe Square and Kyiv Station, the Government House of the Russian Federation (“White House”), MIBC “Moscow City” (one of the most attractive angles) and the Berezhkovskaya embankment of the Moscow River. The observation deck has a considerable length - in fact, it is a landscaped path with a side along the slope, thanks to which you can look at the same city objects from different angles.
Recommended for visiting at sunset.
Address: Rostovskaya embankment, opposite building 5, metro station "Kievskaya", "Smolenskaya".
Opening hours: 24 hours a day.
Cost of visiting: free.
Natural areas
The park is divided into several small natural areas that vary in vegetation. According to the plans of the builders, trees and plants from many parts of Russia will be presented here. So far everything has just been planted and it is not yet very clear where everything is, but in a few years, when the trees and shrubs take root, it will be informative.
Hill "Northern Landscapes"
We climbed a hill with vegetation from the north of Russia. There is nothing interesting here yet, just a few pieces of moss and a couple of squat bushes.
From the hill there is a view of the restored Znamensky Cathedral
Birch Grove
Typical birch trees from central Russia.
The trees are still very small. In 10 years it will be beautiful!
Coniferous forest
Pine trees and fir trees are also still very small. In the future, there will probably be a gorgeous pine grove in the very center of Moscow!
Mixed forest
Forest near the Kremlin in Moscow? This is Zaryadye!
In 20 years there will be a real forest here
Floodplain forest
A sample of forest in European and central Russia, growing in floodplains.
To be honest, it doesn’t really look like a forest, more like a park with landscape design
Observation deck near the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences
A little-known observation deck, which is located not far from the observation deck on Vorobyovy Gory.
Also located on the slope of the Sparrow Hills, the observation deck at the Russian Academy of Sciences is distinguished by more detailed views towards the historical center: from it you can see the towers and cathedrals of the Kremlin, St. Basil's Cathedral, the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, as well as Frunzenskaya, Luzhnetskaya and other embankments of the Moscow River. In addition, one of the most impressive views of the Moscow City International Business Center opens from here!
Recommended for visiting at sunset.
Address: Leninsky Prospekt, 32Ас1, metro station "Leninsky Prospekt".
Opening hours : 24 hours a day.
Cost of visiting: free.
Where to eat in the park
On the side of the embankment, in the area of the floodplain forest, there seems to be a Zaryad`e restaurant. We didn't go in. It may not have opened yet. There is also a restaurant under the “floating bridge” right on the embankment. Prices there are normal for Moscow. Dishes average 300-400 rubles. In some places in the park there are carts with ice cream and drinks. The prices are:
- Water 50 rub.
- Cola 100 rub.
- Ice cream from 100 rubles per scoop
Alcohol is not sold. Do not try to bring anything alcoholic with you; your belongings will be searched at the entrance. But you can take your own snack, it is not prohibited.
Media center
The large pavilion unites two media complexes, a tourist information center, studios, exhibition halls and a specially designated space for temporary exhibitions. Thanks to computer technology, here you can be transported to the distant past of Moscow and bring to life the plots of historical events. The Time Machine project will take you back into the history of the construction of the Kremlin and help you see the history of the development of the Moscow Zaryadye district.
The “Polyot” media hall with a cylindrical screen is the only such project in the country. Here you are invited to a virtual journey through vast Russia. Special technical capabilities create the maximum feeling of flying over the expanses of the country. The first film created for the opening of Zaryadye is dedicated to Moscow; the exhibition will expand and present protected places in different geographical locations of the Russian Federation.
Zaryadye Park reviews
It took us about 1 hour to walk through the park. Overall, a nice place and something new for Moscow. It’s so new that people don’t yet understand what it actually is. Everyone walks around, looks around and can’t understand what’s grandiose and unique here, as they said on TV.
We tried to get to know the park as impartially as possible. We don’t watch TV, but we still heard about the park, which opened on City Day on September 9, 2021. Even in Omsk, Katya’s parents know about it and asked her several times when you are going to go there.
So, Zaryadye is an ordinary small park and a new attraction of Moscow. If you come to explore the capital, check out Zaryadye after Red Square. But it’s definitely not worth traveling specially from other cities just for this park.
There is a lot of noise in the press, but in reality nothing is clear. How many times, while we were walking, did we hear from random people phrases like “I don’t understand anything”... “and that’s why we went”... “what is there to do here”... You can go in and have a look, but you shouldn’t expect any miracles from the park. On TV, as always, everything is embellished. A situation from the series “expectation and reality”
The photo on the left is a real park in Singapore with greenhouses, a cloud forest and super trees. If you believe the advertising on TV, then you will expect at least the same from Zaryadye
Well, jokes aside, it’s actually great that another park has appeared in Moscow. It is clear that the workers tried. Everything looks neat and very modern. Next summer everything will be completed and it will be absolutely great! So, come, take a walk and write your reviews in the comments.
Amphitheater
The outdoor concert venue is the highest point of Zaryadye Park. It follows the natural landscape relief and occupies an area of 1 hectare. The amphitheater is located “on the roof” of the concert hall. Spectators can feel comfortable here in any season. For this purpose, an adjustable microclimate function is provided. A metal frame with glass triangles specially designed for the amphitheater, called “glass crust,” preserves the specified climatic parameters.
There are 1,600 seats under the glass crust with solar panels, another 400 seats are organized in the nearby Small Amphitheater with a huge media screen. The landscaped amphitheater will be comfortable not only for spectators of concert programs, but also for those simply relaxing - the stairs, seats and the arboretum next to them are decorated in eco-style, with a lot of greenery and free space.
How to get to Zaryadye
If you go by car, check the parking issue. In Moscow it is difficult to find a place for a car. Parking for park visitors is available for an additional fee - 250 rubles per hour, entry from Moskvoretskaya Street (for more details, see the official website). It may be cheaper to leave your car somewhere on the neighboring streets and get there on your own.
- From the nearest metro Kitay-Gorod to Zaryadye Park is a 5-minute walk. The last car to the center, to the right and further along the long passage following the signs. But keep in mind that now people are allowed into the park only in one place from Vasilyevsky Spusk (September 2017). You will have to go around the park along Varvarka Street. - is no longer relevant, now the fences have been removed and passage is possible along the entire perimeter.
- The Revolution Square metro station is also a 10-minute walk away. From the metro, turn left and continue straight along Rybny Lane.
- From the Okhotny Ryad and Teatralnaya metro stations you can walk through Red Square. This route will take at least 20 minutes.
Observation deck on Sparrow Hills
Sparrow Hills is the most famous observation deck in Moscow, which has become a truly iconic city landmark.
From the Vorobyovy Gory observation deck, a wide panorama of the city opens up, on which you can see architectural monuments of several eras: pre-revolutionary (buildings of the historical center, numerous churches and bell towers), Soviet (Luzhniki sports complex, “false jaws of Moscow” - houses on Novy Arbat, famous Stalinist high-rise buildings and much more) and modern (MIBC Moscow City, Swissotel Krasnye Holmy and many multi-storey business centers and residential complexes).
To make viewing the city more interesting, free binoculars are installed at the observation deck.
Address: Kosygina Street in the Universitetskaya Square area, Vorobyovy Gory metro station.
Opening hours : 24 hours a day.
Cost of visiting: free.
Bohdan Khmelnytsky Bridge
The Bogdan Khmelnitsky Bridge (“Kyiv Pedestrian Bridge”) is located not far from the Kyiv metro station and the Kievsky railway station.
From open observation platforms located on both sides of the bridge, you can see a number of Moscow embankments (Rostovskaya, Taras Shevchenko, Berezhkovskaya, Savvinskaya) and adjacent landmarks: the Government House, the Ukraine Hotel, the Foreign Ministry building, the house on Kudrinskaya Square, the main building Moscow State University and Novodevichy Convent.
In winter, the outdoor areas are closed, but you can admire the views from the covered part.

Big Stone Bridge
The Bolshoi Kamenny Bridge is located right next to the Kremlin walls, and although it was not originally intended as an observation deck, excellent views invariably bring cityscape lovers here.
From the sidewalks of the bridge there is a magnificent view of the Kremlin embankment and a panorama of the southern fortress wall of the Moscow Kremlin with towers: from Vodovzvodnaya to Beklemishevskaya. Behind the walls you can see the Grand Kremlin Palace and the domes of the cathedrals, and from other sides there is a good view of the House on the Embankment and the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
Address: between the Kremlin and Sofiyskaya embankments of the Moskva River at the Vodovzvodnaya Tower of the Kremlin, Borovitskaya metro station, Lenin Library, Alexandrovsky Garden.
Opening hours: 24 hours a day.

Slope of the Skhodnensky bucket
Skhodnensky ladle (Tushino bowl) is a huge depression in the ground, a unique natural monument in the South Tushino region.
From the high slope of the “pit” you can see the surrounding residential areas (Southern Tushino, Pokrovskoye-Streshnevo) and a number of attractions: the Otkritie Arena stadium (Spartak), Zhivopisny Bridge, business towers, Triumph Palace and Scarlet Sails residential complex ", as well as the Moscow State University high-rise building. In addition, the view of the Skhodnensky Bucket is impressive in itself - even if no other attractions were visible from it.
Address: near Jan Rainis Boulevard and Svetlogorsk Proezd, Skhodnenskaya metro station.
Opening hours: 24 hours a day.
Cost of visiting: free.
