What transport goes to Zaryadye Park?
If you want to visit this park, recently opened personally by President Vladimir Putin,
then you can get to it in one of these ways:
If you plan to get to the park by metro, then it is best to get off at the Kitay-Gorod metro station, since it is the closest station to the park. You need to exit the metro from the side of Slavyanskaya Square and walk along Kitaygorodsky Proezd.
I would like to remind you that Zaryadye Park was built on the site of the former Rossiya Hotel, which was demolished in two thousand and six. On Moscow City Day, September 9, two thousand and seventeen, the park was opened with the participation of the President of Russia and the Mayor of Moscow.
On September 9, 2021, a park opened in Moscow after a long reconstruction, it is called “Zaryadye”. Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin was present at its opening. But everyone began to be allowed into the territory from September 11, although the reconstruction was only recently done by vandals who had already managed to damage the roof of one of the park’s pavilions and the green space. The park is located at the intersection of Kitaygorodsky Proezd and Varvarka Street. Therefore, the closest metro stations to the park are Revolution Square and Kitay-Gorod. Just keep in mind that the park opens from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., that is, it operates for 12 hours. Now, according to one information, it becomes clear that the park is open until 21:00 due to the actions of vandals, that is, now the work has been reduced by one hour. The Kremlin is nearby, so you can't go wrong. Exit towards Slavyanskaya Square along Kitaygorodsky Proezd towards Moskvoretskaya Embankment or along Varvarka Street.
Here's what the park looks like on the map:
You can also get off at Okhotny Ryad station. At Okhotny Ryad station you need to get off at exit No. 7, walk through Red Square, past St. Basil's Cathedral.
Features of Zaryadye Park in Moscow
For City Day, the Zaryadye Park was opened near the Kremlin - the new main attraction of Moscow with a viewing bridge, an amphitheater under a glass dome, a florarium, interactive screens, an augmented reality pavilion and other technological wonders.
The main feature of the park is that all its objects are “hidden” under the landscape. At the same time, the green space of Zaryadye is not monotonous - the entire territory of the park is divided into four climatic zones: forest, northern landscape, steppe and water meadows.
Another advantage of the new park is a picturesque view of the Kremlin, which Zaryadye visitors will be able to admire from the “floating bridge” over the Moskva River. After a walk in the park, you can have fun on the rides - ride the Time Machine or go on the Flight Over Russia.
Zaryadye has become an island of wildlife in the very heart of the capital's metropolis. The green space of the park is divided into climatic zones with a characteristic composition of soils and plants.
The terrain of the park is very expressive, with ups and downs. Climatic zones descend in terraces from Varvarka to Moskvoretskaya embankment. Thus, visitors to Zaryadye can see the large climatic platform of our Motherland in miniature.
Northern landscape
Plants from the northern regions of our country are presented here - juniper, reindeer moss and other shrubs characteristic of this climatic zone.
Steppe
At this site, park visitors can see a real steppe - a treeless space covered with a carpet of herbaceous vegetation. Fragrant herbs, fodder plants and cereals are planted in the Moscow “steppe”.
Mixed forest
Here, guests of Zaryadye will find broad-leaved trees, spruce forests and plants of the so-called floodplain forest, which grow next to reservoirs.
water meadows
The park area became flooded meadows, with two ponds up to 1.1 meters deep.
What's interestnig
The underground passage under Moskvoretskaya embankment was made educational. Here, the historical foundations of the Kitai-Gorod Wall are open to visitors, and an archaeological pavilion with finds discovered on the territory of Zaryadye has also appeared.
This is a unique museum space. The project was developed by city planners together with the Museum of Moscow.
The main exhibits of the pavilion were a treasure of 43 thousand silver coins found by archaeologists, a birch bark document and over 3 thousand household and military items.
In the passage you can also see the museumized foundations of an ancient Moscow street - Velikaya. It disappeared during perestroika, when they wanted to build a Stalinist high-rise in Zaryadye, but in the end they built “Russia” - the largest hotel in the world at that time. In the new Zaryadye Park, visitors to the park can get up close to the Kitai-Gorod Wall and feel the spirit of medieval Moscow.
Visitors to the Ice Cave will find themselves in a labyrinth of many tubes forming arches and columns. This is an evolving installation - there will be more and more tubes, in total, about 70 tons of water will have to be consumed to create an artificial glacier.
In Gastronomichesky, on eight “gourmet islands,” dishes are prepared according to reinterpreted recipes of traditional Russian cuisine. And as a souvenir you can buy eco-canned food and delicacies made especially for Zaryadye, brought from different parts of the country - from the Far East to the Black Sea.
The amphitheater , which seats up to one and a half thousand spectators, is one of the largest open spaces in the city center. Adjacent to the Concert Hall to the south is the Small Amphitheater, where a screen for film screenings and video broadcasts is located.
Daily “Flight”: Zaryadye has determined the attraction’s operating schedule
Since September 20, the “Flight” media complex in the “Media Center” pavilion in Zaryadye Park has been open to visitors every day. On Mondays it is open from 14:40 to 18:40, and on other days from 13:00 to 18:40. This schedule will continue until the end of September.
And starting from October, “Polyot” will be open from 11:00 to 19:40 on all days of the week. Guests of the park will be able to attend screenings of the exciting eight-minute film “Flying Over Moscow” and see the huge metropolis from a bird’s eye view.
“You can examine in detail more than 20 iconic places and attractions of the capital from an unusual angle. For example, the flight passes through Red Square, Zaryadye Park, Alexander Garden, Tverskaya Street, New Arbat, Gorky Park, the Luzhniki Olympic Complex, Sparrow Hills and the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve,” said the chief architect of the city of Moscow and Head of the Zaryadye design team Sergei Kuznetsov.
In a unique cinema hall with a hemispherical screen 13 meters high, a dynamic platform on which 39 movable seats are located, and multi-channel surround sound, viewers are created the effect of being completely present in the most significant places of the city. Prices for film screenings of “Flight” will soon be published on the Zaryadye Park website.
“Visitors to the cinema seem to be flying over the Moscow Kremlin, monasteries and churches, new stadiums, highways, central streets, parks and public gardens. Thanks to various special effects - water splashes, wind, smells - the virtual journey turns into a bright, memorable show,” said Pavel Trekhleb, director of Zaryadye Park.
He also noted that another film, “Flying Over Russia,” is planned to be released this winter. In the same cinema hall, viewers will be able to travel through the most beautiful corners of the country.
The Media Center began operating on September 9, the opening day of Zaryadye Park. The pavilion houses the Polet media complex, which operated in test mode until September 19. There is also the Time Machine media complex, which began receiving visitors from the moment the pavilion opened. The interactive panorama broadcasts events in the history of Moscow from ancient times to the present day. Visitors to the media complex can witness the emergence of the Zaryadye district, the construction of the Kremlin, and the fire of Moscow in 1812.
Zaryadye Park is open every Monday from 14:00 to 22:00, the pavilions on this day are also open from 14:00. On other days it will be open from 10:00 to 22:00, pavilions - from 10:00 to 20:00. You can enter the park until 21:00.
Floating bridge in Zaryadye Park
The “Floating Bridge” in Zaryadye Park is a thin aerial structure in the shape of the letter “V” with a large cantilever reach above the water. It rises above the embankment and seems to float above the Moscow River - that’s why the city planners chose such a sonorous name for it.
This is a unique bridge, the only one in Russia: it has a 70-meter cantilever without a single support. The supporting structure of the bridge was made of concrete, and the decorative elements were made of metal. At the same time, the flooring of the “floating bridge” is wooden - for comfortable walks for Muscovites.
The structures were tested for strength, the bridge withstood a load of 240 tons. This means that 3-4 thousand people will be able to be on the observation deck at the same time.
For the safety of citizens, high fences have been installed to prevent anyone from climbing or jumping over them.
Floating Bridge
The floating bridge is a unique structure made in the shape of the letter “V”. Its 70-meter-long console does not have a single support. The bridge literally hovers over the Moscow River, for which the builders gave it the name “Soaring”. The structure can withstand a load of 240 tons, that is, it can simultaneously accommodate up to four thousand people.

Kremlin, Moscow City and Bolshoi Moskvoretsky Bridge
From the bridge there is a beautiful panorama of the Kremlin and Moscow City, the high-rise building on Kotelnicheskaya Embankment and other sights of Moscow. The construction of the unusual structure cost 860 million rubles.
Of all the objects in the park, it was the Floating Bridge that received the most criticism. It was dubbed the heir to historical objects - a bell that does not ring and a cannon that does not fire and was called a bridge to nowhere (from the left bank back to the left bank).
