Geography
Chiba borders Ibaraki to the north of the Ton River, Tokyo and Saitama to the west, the Pacific Ocean to the east and Tokyo Bay to the south. The majority of Chiba lies on the hilly Boso Peninsula, a rice-growing area: the eastern coast, known as the 99-league plain, is a particularly productive region. The most populated area is the northeast of the prefecture, part of the Kanto region, which extends into the Tokyo and Saitama metropolitan areas. The Kuroshio Current passes near Chiba, making winters relatively warm and summers cool compared to neighboring Tokyo.

Symbolism
The prefectural emblem was created on December 28, 1909. It is a combination of the stylized katakana characters "chi" (チ) and "ha" (ハ). The prefectural flag was approved on July 29, 1963. The blue color of the flag symbolizes hope and development of the prefecture, and the yellow color symbolizes the turnip flower[3].
Although the prefecture's flower has not been officially approved, it is considered to be the turnip flower. He was chosen by the residents of the prefecture in 1954 as a result of a survey conducted by NHK. The tree of the prefecture was the large-leaved legwort (September 29, 1966), the bird was the red-eared bunting (May 10, 1965), and the fish was the red tai (February 23, 1989)[3].
The prefecture's day is June 15[3].
