At the solemn opening ceremony, the participants and guests of the event in the congress were welcomed by the Chairman of the Committee for Tourism Development, Sergei Korneev. He noted that holding the first offline event of event industry professionals in 2021 in the Northern capital of Russia is symbolic. “First of all, this serves as another confirmation of the status of St. Petersburg not only as a city with a unique historical heritage, but also a recognized international center for business and tourism cooperation,” emphasized Sergey Korneev
. “Now our common task is to jointly overcome the crisis caused by COVID19, restore the industry and use the latest tools and technologies in our work, which are more relevant than ever in modern conditions.” He expressed confidence that within two years the event and tourism industries will recover in full in the country.

New Tretyakov Gallery
The New Tretyakov Gallery and the Foundation for Art and Culture in Bonn, Germany, present an international project dedicated to contemporary European art. The exhibition in the gallery is traveling: after Moscow it will be sent to Berlin and then to Paris. Guests of the Tretyakov Gallery will get acquainted with the works of 81 authors from 35 countries who created works addressing the themes of freedom, dignity, power and personal identity after the fall of the Iron Curtain. Among the participants are Albanian artist Anri Sala, art groups “Slavs and Tatars” and “Blue Soup”, spouses Ilya and Emilia Kabakov, Italian Maurizio Cattelan and many others. They will present their canvases, installations, graphics and art objects - about 200 works in total.

“Yoko Ono. The Sky Is Always Clear"

As part of the XIV International Festival-School of Contemporary Art “Territory”, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art will host an exhibition of the Japanese artist and singer Yoko Ono, the widow of John Lennon.
The main exhibit of the show will be her “Instructions” - works created by the artist in the 1960s. They are either limited to textual pointers or take the form of objects that await action from the visitor. The exhibition is structured so that viewers understand the artist’s thoughts about the meaning of art.
