Klev Lake Kozhany

Origin of the name and features

The lake belongs to the Tarkhankut group. The one who gave it the name did not stretch his imagination too far. The estuary really acts as such - that is, a sea bay, gradually separated from the sea by a narrow sandy bar. Crimean Tatars call it Karadzha, apparently after the name of the neighboring bay.

Scientists believe that originally there was a river bed here, but it was flooded by the sea due to changes in level. This is how a bay of reduced salinity appeared.

Liman is relatively young, which is confirmed by reliable sources. The bay-bar that separated it from the sea has not yet fully formed; as a result, it is somewhat conditionally drainless. In windy weather, the sea filling overflows through the separation strip and mixes with lake water.

Fourth place

Liman is the fourth largest lake in the Tarkhankut group. It is fed mainly by precipitation and groundwater; no significant rivers flow into it. Its catchment area is considered to be slightly more than 66 square meters. km. It has no drainage, so its salinity is high.

All estuary ponds have insignificant depth. Lake Liman in Crimea barely reaches 2 m in its deepest section (according to other sources it is only 1 m), and the average in summer is only 40 cm. The water level varies greatly depending on the time of year and the amount of precipitation.

The area of the water surface is slightly less than 1.4 square meters. km. The reservoir is 1.6 km long and up to 1.2 km wide. The perimeter (length of the coastline) is 5 km. The lake lies below the sea. The depth of the basin is insignificant - -0.4 m. This circumstance contributes to the fact that during storms, sea water gets here.

The salinity indicator in Liman is high - the coefficient is 2.37. The mud lying at the bottom is also salty. The thickness of the silt deposits is uneven - from 5 to almost 40 cm. The mud of the Tarkhankut lakes is called medicinal; it is used for diseases of the skin and musculoskeletal system.

Kozhanovskoye Lake

Kozhanovskoe Lake is a unique natural monument, the largest lake in the Bryansk region and a habitat for rare birds and animals. Hunting and fishing near the lake are prohibited, but the reservoir will be an excellent place for eco-tourism.

Unfortunately, after the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, Lake Kozhanovskoe was contaminated with radiation, and therefore there are strict bans on fishing, hunting and swimming. Today, the half-life of radioactive substances has passed, and the radiation of the lake waters has dropped to 15 Ci/sq. km. In 1997, a protected area was established in the area around the reservoir, and the lake itself was declared a natural monument of regional significance. In 2008, an updated legislative act on the protection of the territory was introduced, completely prohibiting hunting and fishing in this reservoir.

Kozhanovskoe Lake is an incredibly beautiful body of water, which is the largest in the entire region. Because of this, it was chosen by rare birds for “landing” during their air movements, including the great egret and mute swan. Therefore, in late autumn, during active migrations of birds, hundreds of these beautiful birds land on the surface of the lake. Moorhens, snipes, sooty terns, grebes and bitterns can also be seen here.

Please note that there are strict prohibitions on human activity on the lake. This is a ban on fishing and crayfish, bird hunting, the use of motorized watercraft, destruction of vegetation and pollution of the territory. For violating any of these requirements, you can receive a fine from 2.5 to 10 thousand rubles, so we do not recommend taking risks and fishing in a reservoir.

At the same time, eco-tourism events can be held here and the ecosystems of the reservoir can be strengthened. You don’t have to be afraid of radiation - due to the end of the half-life of cesium, you can stay near a reservoir, although it is recommended to spend only a short time here.

What kind of fish is found in the Bryansk region

Bryansk and the region are not famous for a large number of rare fish, but there are more than enough common species here. Moreover, the majority of the specimens are trophy and quite large, this fact pleases local fishermen. Most often you can catch:

  • Guster;
  • Rudd;
  • Bream;
  • Perch;
  • Roach;
  • Podusta;
  • Sterlet;
  • Pike perch;
  • Barbel;
  • Pike.

This is not a complete list of all the fish that are found in the region’s water bodies. The list includes only those species that almost everyone can catch in all bodies of water. If you choose the right place for fishing, you will also succeed and you will be able to show off your rich catch among your colleagues and friends.

Mud holiday in Olenevka

Lake Liman is actually located within the boundaries of the village of Olenevka, but there are no sanatoriums, health resorts or balneological centers on its shore.

The local medicinal mud is supplied to a number of clinics, but vacationers are “treated” with it on their own – at their own peril and risk. Photos of cheerful children smeared from head to toe with black mud are popular on the Internet. But people who want to follow their example often forget that mud treatment is not a harmless pleasure. They cannot be kept on the skin for more than a quarter of an hour; in addition, there are a number of contraindications to such therapy.

Therefore, many tourists who decide to “improve their health” by simply going to the beach near Liman and getting dirty, suddenly feel palpitations, dizziness, unpleasant changes in blood pressure and other bad symptoms. Therefore, before becoming your own spa doctor, it doesn’t hurt to at least ask your personal therapist about contraindications for mud therapy.

The healing properties of Liman mud themselves are beyond doubt; they are used in a number of sanatoriums, and the reviews about the treatment are excellent. Therefore, the issue of creating a balneological center on the shore is urgent, but is still far from being resolved. Meanwhile, scientists and nature experts are worried about the preservation of the lake.

Unclear future

Since the lake coast is poorly equipped, holidays there require increased consciousness from tourists. Unfortunately, not everyone has it. Vacationers leave garbage and leftover food here, littering the lake itself.

All this applies to Liman even to a greater extent - now the lake is not directly used for recreational purposes. The only official event in his area is windsurfing competitions, but athletes and fans do not always help keep the water body clean.

In addition to the rules of conduct in nature, travelers should also remember personal safety measures before visiting an attraction. It is important not only to follow the rules of mud therapy, but also to take into account that the lake is surrounded by steppe terrain - there is no drinking or shade in its vicinity. The coastline is not equipped, so you will have to worry about drinks and sun umbrellas yourself.

Types of fish that are found in this reservoir:

3

char crucian carp perch whitefish

The natural monument was formed in order to preserve the largest lake in the region. It must be said that this reservoir is a place of mass gatherings of migrating birds in the autumn. The lake is also the habitat of one species of insects, which is included in the Red Book of the country and the Bryansk region. namely the variable bumblebee. Also, this reservoir is the habitat of two species of animals that are included in the Red Book of the Bryansk Region, namely the great white heron and the mute swan. Kozhany is. Among other things, it is a key ornithological area of the country, which has regional significance.

If we talk about fishing on the lake, then it has its place. The lake is home to various types of fish, as well as crayfish. The largest populations here are perch, crucian carp, carp, char and whitefish.

It must be said that this reservoir with its surroundings can rightfully be considered a natural heritage, because only here there are corners untouched by human hands that have been preserved to this day.

The contractor building the Bryansk-I – Bryansk-II road confirmed his readiness to improve the area adjacent to Lake Mutny.

The road workers promised the head of the city administration, Alexander Makarov, to begin work as soon as the lake returned to its borders after the spill.

As the press service of the mayor's office said, the existing dirt road leading from Moskovsky Avenue to Mutny will be put in order and paved. New sand will be brought to the beach and the area will be graded. There will be a convenient access to the lake from the new road - a staircase will be built for this. Also, for the convenience of pedestrians, there will be an approach to the lake from the Metro hypermarket.

Earlier, at the peak of the flood, the waters of Mutnoye Lake approached the new dam road.
