Features of the lake
The word “Alabuga” has Bashkir roots; translated from this language it means perch, and indeed the abundance of fish justifies the name given by our ancestors. On the map, the shape of the reservoir resembles a drop, which is also very interesting.
The lake itself is not very large, its area does not exceed 9 square meters. km, and the depth on average is about 3 meters, in some places it reaches 5 meters. Closer to the shore the bottom is sandy, but further on it becomes muddy. Scientists believe that it is in the silt that minerals beneficial to the body are concentrated. Alabuga is a fresh lake, but it contains hydrocarbonate ions of calcium and magnesium, which allows us to confidently assert that the reservoir has healing properties.
Alabuga has an interesting feature, which is the instability of the oxygen regime. As a rule, in the spring-autumn period, the water in the lake as a whole is quite saturated with oxygen, but in winter, under thick ice, its deficiency can reach 80%, which is not very good for fish living in the reservoir.
About a tenth of the lake is swampy, and along the banks there is a forest. The Alabuga channel connects with Lake Big Kasli.
This place is very picturesque, many people want to not only relax here, but also live, and there is every opportunity for this - on the shore of the reservoir there is a holiday village "Izumrud". Its small size allows home owners to feel at one with nature without noise and fuss.
Fishing on Lake Alabuga
Of course, Lake Alabuga largely lives up to its fish name - its waters are home to perch, carp, burbot, bream, pike, roach and peled. Moreover, fish are found here in large quantities. However, if you decide to go fishing, you need to take into account the following circumstances - the user of the reservoir is Avtomobilist LLC, which, according to an agreement with the state, periodically stocks fish and monitors the state of the Alabuga fish population. Because of this, fishing in the reservoir is paid and is carried out on a voucher basis. They fish both from the shore and from boats.
Lake Alabuga (near Uvilda)
We are talking about a very small reservoir, relatively close to Chelyabinsk (the diameter of this reservoir is about 0.5 km, and its area is 0.25 km²). The average depth of Lake Alabuga is approximately 6 m. The maximum depth is 9 m. However, the lake is popular with fishermen because the water in it is fresh and clean, and the catch you can get is chebak, ruffe, pike, bleak, perch, and carp. And many people are lucky, and sturgeon, trout, whitefish and burbot end up in their fish tank. It should be taken into account that fishing here is paid. You can stay overnight in houses, tents or right in your car. Fishing can only be done from bridges or piers. There is also a comfortable fishing gazebo for fishermen right on the lake.
The banks of the reservoir are overgrown with dense mixed forest. Pine and birch trees predominate here. The terrain is hilly.
For reference, let us clarify: from Chelyabinsk to Lake Alabuga (near Lake Uvilda) - approximately 90 km. From Yekaterinburg – 230 km in the direction of Karabash. On the shore of the lake is the village of Burlak.
How can I get to
The nearest town, Kasli, is about 5 km from the lake. The village can be reached by bus. You will have to cover the remaining distance on foot or try to get there by passing car.
From Chelyabinsk you can get here by bus No. 576, which departs from the Central Bus Station. The schedule can be viewed on the website of suburban and intercity buses.
From the Southern Bus Station of Yekaterinburg to the bus station of the city of Kasli you can take buses No. 505, 555, 557, 558, 878. You can view the schedule of routes of interest on the official website of the bus station.
Suitable routes from the Northern Bus Station are No. 505K, 560, 867, 928. The schedule can be checked on the official website of the organization.
The lake itself can be reached by car.
From Chelyabinsk you need to take the M36 highway in the direction of Yekaterinburg, turn at the “Kasli” sign, drive through the city to the reservoir.
From Yekaterinburg you need to move towards Chelyabinsk along the M5 highway until you turn to the central city of the Kasli region.

Fishing Features
Lake Alabuga is one of the few reservoirs in the Chelyabinsk region where crucian carp bite all year round - both in winter and summer, and usually very good specimens are caught - the size of a palm or more (the heaviest ones are a little less than a kilo, but they are not found often). At times it happens that a lot of small fish bite, so on the lake it always makes sense to use equipment and baits that screen them out, or use special tactics - fishing at night, when larger fish are most active. By the way, fishing on Alabuga in the dark often has significantly better results than during the day - this rule works both in open water and from ice. This is especially true for winter crucian fishing.
Rest on Lake Alabuga
For relaxation on the shore of the lake there are several houses for rent. But you can also relax quite comfortably in tents directly near the shore. For history buffs, in the village, on the shore of the lake, there is a small church of Demetrius of Thessalonica. It was built back in the mid-19th century. During Soviet times, this place of worship was looted and desecrated. And only quite recently, after restoration, services began to be held there.
Directions to Lake Alabuga from Chelyabinsk
Getting to this lake is quite easy. If you travel by car from Chelyabinsk, you need to go along the Kurgan Highway until the fork to Miasskoye. From Miasskoye, follow the Brodokalmaksky tract to Brodokalmak. The distance from Miass to Brodokalmak is 20 km. After passing Brodokalmak, after about 7 kilometers, you will reach a hotel and a gas station. They will be located to your right. Literally behind them, 50 meters from the gas station, you will need to turn right. This road will lead you directly to Alabuga. First you will come across Lake Tirikul, you will see it on the left after driving 5 kilometers. Further, after 2 kilometers, Lake Kadkul will appear before your eyes. But that's not all. You just have to drive the last 5 kilometers and you will reach Lake Alabuga.

South Coast (from Yekaterinburg)

- How to get there: from Yekaterinburg you need to go in the direction of Chelyabinsk. After the village of Maly Kuyash, after a few kilometers there will be an interchange with an exit to Kunashak - you need to turn there. You should drive through this settlement - either along the bypass or directly, then move to Muslyumovo, before which you need to turn left - to Brodokalmak (there will be a corresponding sign after the bridge over the Techa River, and another one at the fork a few kilometers after Muslyumovo). In front of Brodokalmak there will be an intersection - at it you need to turn right and then move in the direction of Shadrinsk - to the intersection where there will be a sign for Alabuga (to the right), where you should turn, then move to the village. From the village you can continue driving in both directions along the shore of the lake.
South Coast (from Chelyabinsk)

Alabuga - lake in the Urals
On the Trans-Ural Plain in Russia there are beautiful places with lakes. It is very interesting that there are only three reservoirs of the same name. They are located in different areas: one in Kaslinsky, the second in Krasnoarmeysky, the third near Karabash. All of them proudly bear the title Chelyabinsk Lakes.
Alabuga is a South Ural reservoir, which is located 5 km from the city of Kasli, and is considered medicinal. Paid fishing is organized here; you can often meet tourists with tents who prefer to relax like “savages”. The places here are beautiful, one might say virgin. Those who want to completely renounce the bustle of the city need to visit this lake.

Lake Bolshiye Kasli is connected in the west with the Alabuga channel, and in the northern part with the Karabolka River. Nearby are such reservoirs as Maly Kisegach, Kutashi, Bolshiye Allaki, etc.
Alabuga is a fresh lake, the water here is crystal clear, with a mineralization of about 700 mg/l. Excellent visibility remains at a depth of up to 2 meters. In those years when the water level increases noticeably, the lake becomes flowing, this ensures that its water load remains constant. The oxygen regime is unstable. In the warm season, the water in the lake is sufficiently rich in oxygen. But in winter, when Alabuga is covered with ice, the oxygen concentration decreases significantly; its insufficient amount can be up to 80%. The bottom of the lake consists of sand near the shores and silt in the central part, which is presented in the form of sapropel mud, enriched with organic and mineral substances.
Flora and fauna
The banks are slightly indented, low and in some places swampy. Near the water there are thickets of cattails, reeds, reeds and water lilies. The overgrowth rate is about 10%. Along the shore you can see a dense mixed forest, sometimes there are small birch groves.
Alabuga is a lake that belongs to a number of major fishing grounds, as it is characterized by high fish productivity, amounting to up to 40 kg/ha. The main maintenance of fish stocks is the stocking of the lake in the spring and the spawning of some species.
For fishermen, these places are a godsend. There are many types of fish in the pond. The predominant species are bream, roach, carp, perch, burbot, and peled. Previously, it was possible to catch whitefish in the lake, but recently it has hardly been found. Now people go to this reservoir for large perch. Some individuals weigh up to 2 kg.
This reservoir is a well-known place for recreation; all year round there is no end to fishermen and wild tourists.
Lake Alabuga: fishing
You can relax here by taking a tent and fishing gear with you. Fishing in Alabuga is paid. In summer, in open water, fish are usually caught from boats, because the entire coastline is occupied by thickets of reeds, or from constructed piers. And with the arrival of cold weather, fishermen scatter throughout the lake. The best winter fishing is considered to be on the first and last ice.
They fish mainly with spinning rods and fishing rods. To catch the carp family, bottom, float and side gear are used. The most common method for perch hunting is spinning with various artificial baits.
Fish kills are a common occurrence in the Alabuga reservoir. The lake suffers from a lack of oxygen in winter, which is what leads to such unpleasant consequences. But still this place is quite popular among Chelyabinsk fishermen.
