- Coastal landscape: the shores of the lake are mostly open, with small areas of mixed forest in some places. From the west, north and south - moderately swampy, heavily overgrown with semi-aquatic vegetation (reed predominates). The northern and eastern coasts are replete with small pools and windows in swampy thickets. The reservoir is surrounded by a road (on the western bank - dirt, on the eastern - asphalt), with turns to the shore. There is a village on the northeastern shore; the development area is just over 1.5% of the entire coastline.

Lake Shablish is located in the north of the Chelyabinsk region in the eastern part of the Kaslinsky district on the border with the Sverdlovsk region. It is considered quite large and has an oval shape. Total area - 32 sq. kilometers, average depth 2 meters, maximum - 5 meters, coastline length 24 kilometers. The reservoir stretches for 5.5 kilometers from east to west, and 8.5 kilometers from north to east. It has no large islands, only one and not very significant drainage - the Istok River. The bottom is sandy, there are rarely small stones, it is heavily overgrown with aquatic vegetation, there are several beaches comfortable for swimming. The landscape is mixed with forest, but the banks are generally low and open. On the eastern side the lake is surrounded by an asphalt road.
The name comes from the Bashkir male name “Shablish”. The lake is surrounded by a large number of reservoirs: Chervyanoye, Travyanoye, Bolshoi Kuyash, Yulash and others.

Fishing spots
Fishing is possible throughout the lake - both from the shore (in places where reed beds are not very developed) and from a boat. However, the northern coast is the most popular among fishermen - with its small “bays” and creeks, where the depth varies from one and a half to two meters. The deepest places are concentrated in the middle of the reservoir.
Fishing Features
Thanks to a good food supply and developed aquatic vegetation, Lake Shablish is a typical “pike” reservoir, where the toothy predator feels at ease and is very numerous. That is why spinning fishing is primarily popular here. Near reed thickets, where the depth is shallow, small-sized (up to 1 kg, but more often 300-500 g) bee-eaters are caught, which are found here in abundance. There is also a lot of small perch, and among peaceful fish - roach the size of a finger. When fishing with a spinning rod, it is best to use non-snagging baits, since at the bottom of the lake - even in seemingly clean places - there is a lot of algae, which often causes snags. By the way, the most catchy and practical baits on Shablish are jig heads with vibrating tails and twisters in white and green shades.
Fishermen who know the reservoir advise going for large fish to the middle of the lake - to deep (up to 4 m) places, there is a chance to catch a pike weighing up to 3 kg, although lately this has not been a frequent occurrence - due to strong fishing pressure. Trophy specimens (up to 8 kg) are caught very rarely. At the depths you can also find larger perch and quite good roach. Among other “peaceful” fish that regularly replenish the fishermen’s catches is bream, of which there is a lot here, but most often small “plywood” are caught, among which at times there are a lot of fish with tapeworms. Large bream are found less frequently; it is best to “hunt” for them with a feeder at night.
Other fish mentioned in the list, apparently, are quite small in number, or are found in single specimens. There is no information about their capture yet.

Village Shablish (from Yekaterinburg)
- Coordinates: 56°17′09″ N. latitude, 61°39′41″ e. d.
- Distance from Yekaterinburg: 110 km.
- Delivery option: any car.
- How to get there: from Yekaterinburg you should drive in an easterly direction - along the Tyumen Highway. After Kosulino you need to turn towards Kamensk-Uralsky (there will be a corresponding sign). Next - move to the city, in front of which - at the junction - you should turn right and continue driving. After the bridge over Iset there will be another interchange, and after a while there will be a second one, at which you need to turn right again - to the village of Bogatenkova, after passing which you should move to the village of Rybnikovo. There, at the central intersection, you need to turn left and then continue driving to the village of Shablish, from which you can go around the lake on either side.

- How to get there: from Chelyabinsk you should go in the direction of Yekaterinburg. Before Tyubuk you need to turn right and move to the village of Bagaryak, which you should go around along the bypass on the right. After the bridge over the Bagaryak River there will be two intersections with branches to the left - at the second you need to turn and then move to the village of Shablish, a few kilometers before which the eastern shore of the lake will be on the left of the road.

Lake Shablish is a reservoir in the Kasli district. The region - the lake is located on the very border of the Chelyabinsk and Sverdlovsk regions. So, the distance to Chelyabinsk = 140 km, the distance to Yekaterinburg = 130 km. Settlements: Shablish village (north-eastern coast), Kasli city (67 km).
Lake Shablish: numbers
The shape is elongated. Length - 8.4 km, width - 5 km. The area of the Shablish mirror is 32 square meters. km. Water transparency (in summer) reaches 3 m. The water is fresh. The depths increase gradually. The bottom is rock and sand. Overgrowth is minimal: reeds are noted on the eastern bank.
