Gorky Park Museum

The main exhibition of the country is considered to be a place of adult entertainment, although children are not bored here either. There are three playgrounds here - they are small, but each has its own original features. For example, to the right of the arch of the Main Entrance on the Ring Road there is an inclusive playground for children with disabilities - it is equipped with ramps for wheelchairs, and special supports and handrails are installed at the slides, swings and other attractions. There is even a large alphabet that you can use to learn Braille, which is used by the visually impaired.

A little further, behind the Chess Club, stands the Fantastic City. Its main feature is a seven-meter fairy-tale tower with slides and weather vanes rotating in the wind. The highest slide of the tower is a closed pipe twisted into a spiral. There is usually something similar in water parks; children are delighted with the attraction.

Finally, near Buran, the Cosmos site was opened - with game models of spacecraft that have become symbols of Russian cosmonautics. Children, for example, love to climb into the “lunar rover” and imagine themselves conquering other planets. And the slides turned into slides from the Progress cargo spacecraft and the Vostok launch vehicle. Another special feature of this playground is that it is intended for children of different ages - from 2 to 11 years old.

How to get there

The park is located in the city center behind the Garden Ring, following the bends of the Moscow River. There are several ways to get to it.

Metro to Gorky Park in Moscow

There are two metro stations within an 8-10 minute walk from the Central Entrance: Park Kultury (900 m) and Oktyabrskaya (700 m). It is best to go to Oktyabrskaya (circle line), as you won’t have to cross a bridge with busy traffic. If it’s not important how to get into the park (not through the Central Entrance), you can also get out at the “Park of Culture”, walk along the bridge for about 500 meters and go down the stairs to the beginning of Pushkinskaya Embankment.

To get directly to Neskuchny Garden, bypassing the Parterre, you need to get off at Frunzenskaya station and walk 1.3 km (15 minutes), including over the covered bridge. One station away will be Vorobyovy Gory.

How to get from the metro - panorama

Walking route

The walk from Red Square to the Central Entrance will take about 40 minutes. You need to move through the Alexander Garden, Borovitskaya Square, along the bridge to Serafimovich, then go out to the Crimean embankment (Museon), and after the Tretyakov Gallery - along the underground passage. If you are not in a hurry and stop at park facilities, it will take 1 hour.

There are no attractions left in the usual sense (shooting range, racing track, slides) in the park. In 2011, the Ferris wheel in Gorky Park and all obsolete entertainment were dismantled. Today the park offers a lot of other activities to choose from, including sports and creative ones.

Ice rink
