A giant skating rink with artificial ice with an area of 20,000 square meters awaits Muscovites in Gorky Park. Up to 6,000 people can be on the skating rink at the same time. The ice skating rink in Gorky Park includes the skating rink itself, dance and children's areas, small tracks, a modern hockey rink, an event area, ticket offices and rental points for the latest equipment (a separate pavilion for visitors who came with their own skates), and a figure skating school. Festive lighting design in the new skating rink in Moscow at the Central Park of Culture and Culture named after. Gorky was created by the German company Ulrike Brandi Licht, and the engineering design of the ice skating rink, which promises to be the highest quality skating rink in Moscow, was carried out by the Austrian company AST. The park will have 4 entrances to the skating rink: through the Main Entrance Arch, from Pushkinskaya Embankment through pavilion No. 4, from the Mercato family cafe and pavilion No. 3, from Leninsky Prospekt, next to the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art. There will be 3 ticket offices on the left and right sides of the Main Entrance Arch. There will be rental points in all pavilions. The fifth pavilion will be intended for guests who brought their own skates, and the sixth will have a locker room, a relaxation area and a cafe for visitors to the children's ice rink. Where to go
This year several pavilions are open. This is done for the convenience of skating rink guests. If you want to come light and not have to walk far, choose the Start pavilion, it is located right behind the arch - here you can rent skates or bring your own.
The second pavilion, “Meridian,” can only be entered with your own equipment; it is only open on weekends. "Zenith" is located a little further, in the depths of the park. You can also rent skates there, having pre-registered online, or bring your own.
With young guests, it is most convenient to head to Fairvater, this is the fifth pavilion. Season 2020/2021 - skating rink "Navigator 20020' - 20021'"
The opening of the new season in Gorky Park will take place on November 27. Look for codes from iconic places on the map of Russia in the design of "Navigator 20020' - 20021'". Visitors to the skating rink will be able to move to any latitude and longitude, to see, for example, the western and eastern peaks of Elbrus; the steel cables of the Golden Bridge in Vladivostok diverging like strings; Fisht stadium in Sochi; crenellated walls of the façade of the Swallow's Nest in Yalta; the rays of the Murmansk lighthouse cutting through the fog and, of course, the starting and ending point of the journey - the Arch of the Main Entrance to Gorky Park. For a safe visit to the skating rink in the 2020-2021 season, new rules have been established: - tickets to the skating rink are sold only online; — at the entrance, visitors will have their temperature measured with a non-contact thermometer; — sanitizers and disinfecting lamps are used in the pavilions; — visitors must wear masks and gloves while in the pavilions (you can buy masks and gloves from the vending machine at the skating rink); — skates from rental points will be subject to additional processing after each use; — an increased number of sessions (4 instead of 2) is organized to control the flow of visitors, disinfection and ventilation of pavilions during breaks.

Main (adult) skating rink
The cost of a ticket to the skating rink in Gorky Park for an adult will range from 250 to 1300 rubles. Depending on the day of the week (weekdays or weekends), session and age (child or adult ticket). The Summer Cinema is an open-air cinema on one of the alleys of Gorky Park. His idea was borrowed from the United States, where similar cinemas were popular in the last century. Here they can show both old art-house films and modern works that were not included in the main film distribution.

How does the Gorky Park skating rink work?
The skating rink is open from Tuesday to Sunday. You can buy a ticket for the morning (from 10:00 to 15:00) or evening (from 17:00 to 23:00 from Tuesday to Thursday and until 00:00 from Friday to Sunday and on holidays) session. Sales of electronic tickets for a session will begin no earlier than 30 minutes before the start of the session and will end 1 hour before the end of the session. Try to plan your time! We ask you to read the rules in advance. You are not allowed to go onto the ice with food; there are special recreation areas at the skating rink for this purpose. For hockey matches you can rent a hockey box. You can’t be on the ice without skates, and why would you? If you don't know how to ride, come learn.
When to go
To make skiing comfortable and safe, operating hours are divided into sessions. For early risers who like perfect ice, shorter slots are available - from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 13:00 to 15:00 - and better prices for them.
In the evening, the skating rink becomes more romantic: it gets dark, the paths are illuminated, and lights come on everywhere. You can come in the dark from 17:00 to 20:00 or from 21:00 to 23:00. Monday is a day off.
Ice quality
The quality of artificial ice in Gorky Park, as the organizers promise, will remain high throughout the season. The skating rink in Gorky Park will be polished regularly by special machines. And the skating rink can be used in positive weather (not higher than +10 degrees). The thickness of the ice is like that of a professional skating rink - 15 centimeters. Under the skating rink in Gorky Park there are mats, below there are cooling pipes, under which there is sand, compaction and asphalt. When the outside temperature rises, the automatic system will turn on to cool the ice.
Garage Museum of Contemporary Art
The Garage Museum opened its doors to visitors in 2008. Its founder is the head of the cultural foundation IRIS Fondation, Molly Dent-Brocklehurst, and Russian entrepreneur Daria Zhukova. The “garage” was a small pavilion located in an old building. Five years later, a modern building in the style of the Russian avant-garde was opened in its place.
It displays the works of domestic and foreign artists. The Garage Museum exhibits the most unusual paintings, sculptures and photographs, the authors of which were able to move away from traditional canons and recreated their works in a non-standard design.
Lectures and seminars on contemporary art are held here.
They are led by professional artists Alexander Povzner and Irina Korina. The entrance fee is 500 rubles. There are preferential offers for children, students and pensioners.
"Factory of Happy People"
The theme of the design of the skating rink was not chosen by chance - in 1934, the famous English writer Herbert Wells visited Gorky Park, who described it with a vivid definition - “Factory of Happy People”. In the summer of 2021, the park celebrated its 90th anniversary, and they decided to extend the anniversary theme, playing on Wells’ expression in the design of the skating rink.
The skating rink is designed in an industrial style: from the main entrance to the park, visitors are greeted by a 10-meter chimney, and on the ice, the factory aesthetic is continued by a forest of thousands of light pipes surrounding the bowl of the Figured Fountain. The pavilions were decorated as factory floors, and a real fireplace was placed in the food court, where “workers” tired of happiness could rest.
All art objects and pavilions are beautifully illuminated at night, and clouds of steam come from the chimney - immediately after the opening, it became a spectacular and popular background for selfies and just photos.
The industrial style sets the mood not only for the skating rink, but also for the entire park: to emphasize it, a bright neon installation in the form of a conveyor belt along which boxes with skates are moving was placed on the arch of the main entrance.
