Exhibition “Isaac Levitan and auteur cinema” at the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center

On October 4, the exhibition “Isaac Levitan and the Author’s Cinema” opens at the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center. Levitan is the author of recognizable paintings and, as he is called, a master of “mood landscape”. The exhibition will feature more than 30 of his works.

How to participate

Any manufacturer can participate in the capital’s New Year’s exhibitions by submitting an online application on the official website of the Moscow Fairs State Budgetary Institution. You will need to fill out a special form and attach scans of permits. The application campaign starts a month before the scheduled date of the fair and ends a week before the event.

Art Festival ArtLife Fest

From October 4 to October 7, Trekhgornaya Manufactory will host the largest art festival ArtLife Fest. Master classes, an exhibition of 150 paintings, lectures with art historians and art critics - the festival program will be of interest to both adults and children. The first food pairing festival Craft&Food

The European trend of food pairing, based on the idea that a good drink needs a corresponding gastronomic pairing, has reached Russia. On October 5 and 6, the first food pairing festival Craft&Food will be held in the Modul loft space. The main drink of the festival will be craft beer: more than 50 types will be presented. On the eve of the New Year holidays, several hundred New Year's fairs will open in Moscow - last season there were about 70 of them. It is interesting that recently the fairs have changed their format, turning from a trading event into an entertainment event.

Almost every exhibition is accompanied by a colorful show program involving singers, dancers, figure skaters and ballet actors. Those interested can go on rides, take a sleigh ride, take part in a variety of master classes, and watch dance battles. And also - taste dishes of national cuisines, drink warming or strong drinks.

“Journey to Christmas”

This is the name given to the whole fair festival, which takes place annually in several places in Moscow and is designed in the general New Year style. Red Square, VDNKh, New Arbat, Glory Square, Zelenograd, Troitsk - these are not all the areas where shopping chalets will appear.

You can buy a lot of interesting things here - Christmas tree decorations and touching souvenirs, knitted items and hand-made crafts. A large selection of useful interior items is also expected - blankets, bedspreads, dishes, kitchen utensils. Not only Moscow craftsmen will present their products, but also craftsmen from the Russian hinterland who also want to show off their products.

The delicious treats are also varied – bagels, pancakes, candies, cookies. Foreign guests will also bring treats; for example, you can enjoy the legendary gingerbread from Germany itself.

The festival will take place for a whole month - from December 13, 2019 to January 12, 2020.

Fair in GUM

The GUM Fair is the most interesting and long-lasting exhibition organized by the famous shopping center. It will welcome its first visitors on November 30, and the final sales will take place on February 29. Opening hours vary depending on the day of the week:

  • from Monday to Thursday – 11.00-22.00;
  • on Friday – 11.00-23.00;
  • on Saturday, Sunday and holidays – 10.00-23.00.

Traditionally, the New Year's fair at VDNH will open on the twentieth of December, smoothly flowing into the Christmas fair. The exhibition will occupy two local sites at once - Industry Square and the area near Moskvarium. The tents will be open daily from 11 am to 11 pm, and on New Year's Eve the entertainment events will last until three o'clock in the morning.

Guests will find a huge assortment of souvenirs - toys, nesting dolls, figurines, candles and Christmas tree decorations, wood products, wool, and yarn. You can also warm yourself up for the winter here - mittens, hats with earflaps, felt boots, and knitted sweaters will keep you warm even in the harshest winter.

The educational program on Tverskoy Boulevard will be no less exciting. Visitors will have the opportunity to listen to lectures by prominent scientists, get acquainted with the latest inventions and purchase themed souvenirs. A snow shooting range, a platform for snowboarders and sports competitions, will open on the “Winter Games Alley”.

Dinners with Jose Gordon at Castle Dish

The new Castle Dish restaurant is a truly unique place. Its menu is based on meat from Jose Gordon, who became famous after the release of the Netflix film Steak (R)evolution, and it is the only restaurant in Moscow that has the right to work with Jose. The evening's menu will feature 8 dishes, including sesina, beef carpaccio and chorizo ​​- they will be delivered ready-made straight from José's farm. The main course will be ox heart and strawio, prepared by chef Dmitry Shurshakov. The set will be accompanied by two glasses of wine and unusual drinks from head bartender Vasily Schwartz, including an infusion of buckwheat with melon and smoked tomato sangrita. 7 years White Rabbit

One of the most famous restaurants in Moscow, White Rabbit, will celebrate its 7th anniversary on October 3 with a grand Russian dinner performed by seven chefs.
