The annual Fish Week festival in Moscow in 2021 will be held from May 24 to June 2 . For those who are not yet familiar with this festival, this is an event dedicated to fish and other inhabitants of rivers and seas, dishes from fish, river and seafood, as well as characters - heroes of fairy tales and legends, whose main place of residence is the “sea-ocean” "

Events on Manezhnaya Square: carnival, master classes for children

The festival will begin with a carnival procession. Actors dressed in costumes of sea creatures will organize a celebration and fun.
In addition to the procession, an exact copy of a real Venetian ship from the 11th century will be installed on Manezhnaya Square! You will be able to take a photo with this merchant ship in the background to leave this event in your memory for a long time.

On this same street during Fish Week there will be carnival processions every day, which anyone can join for free. So, don't forget to take your camera and a good mood.
On Revolution Square you will be able to taste a variety of fish dishes in street cafes. The hit of Fish Week 2021 will be seafood kebabs, Thai and Vietnamese soups, oysters, fish soup and pancakes with caviar.

Children will be able to visit various attractions specially installed for Fish Week. For example, you can make a wish by gluing a piece of paper with a wish to a sail.

In addition to the culinary part, master classes will be held where they will learn how to knit sea knots, how to make a whole panel out of them, how to make an aquarium and much more interesting things.

Who will take part in the anniversary festival
The gastronomic festival “Fish Week” started at seven venues in the capital. This was reported by the Moscow Agency with reference to the representative of the organizing committee Anna Toropova.
50 enterprises from all over Russia will take part in the gastronomic festival. They will bring 100 types of fish and seafood.
The festival will be supported by 15 retail chains, 1,386 chain stores and about 500 non-chain stores. During Fish Week, they will reduce prices for fish and seafood and hold tastings.
“Not only fishing enterprises will take part in this festival. Moscow shops and restaurants are connected to them. Fish stores, of which there are more than 1,300 in Moscow, will prepare special tasting programs and offer discounts on fish products,” added Alexey Nemeryuk.
37 metropolitan restaurants have developed a special menu for guests of the holiday. According to restaurateur Sergei Mironov, now many restaurants want to buy only Russian fish. The festival provides an opportunity to meet potential suppliers and buyers.
“About 50 enterprises will bring their fish to this festival, and restaurateurs will be able not only to communicate with their representatives, but also to negotiate supplies,” noted Sergei Mironov.

"Zarechye - the coast of artisans"

"Merchant's Feast"

"Water Canal"
This is a historically very important structure - the fact is that while other areas suffered only from attacks and fires, in Zamoskvorechye there were also floods. Moreover, some of them were quite harsh and destructive. To give you an idea of the scale of the disaster, in 1783 a flood destroyed the Great Stone Bridge!
It was after this that it was decided to dig a canal that ran along the old bed of the Moscow River. Fortunately, the swampy terrain did not allow for development of this site, which the builders took advantage of.
And the canal was later called Vodootvodny. The goal is to avoid such flood damage.

The festival organizers have planned 40 walks around Zamoskvorechye, which will be led by guides of the Moscow Stories project. Groups will be recruited every two hours, starting from noon and until 18:00 at the site in Klimentovsky Lane (near building 21, building 2). Anyone can join the tour; there is no need to register in advance.
The program turned out to be varied, each walk is dedicated to iconic places of this picturesque area of the capital. What to try
In 2021, seafood fast food cafes will reopen near markets and trade stalls, where you can taste almost all seafood.
