The territory of the Smolensk Lake District is densely covered with a network of rivers, rivulets, and channels connecting lakes.

It is remarkable that the rivers of the national park belong to the Western Dvina basin, while the rest of the Smolensk region belongs to the Dnieper and Volga basins. Apart from the Gobza River, which runs through the park for a small section, there are no transit rivers in Poozerie.
