The Tabyn Bashkirs consider the White Lake sacred and call it Akkul, which is translated from their national language: “ak” - “sacred” or “white” and “kul” - “lake”. They believe that this is where the Spirit of Water lives, to whom the ancestors of modern aborigines have made sacrificial offerings for a long time. The picturesque reservoir is located in the Gafuriysky district of Bashkortostan, 5 km from the village of the same name, 16 km from the regional administrative center of Krasnousolsky, 45 km from Sterlitamak and 75 km from the republican capital - the city of Ufa.

Geographically, Beloe Lake with adjacent forests and meadows belongs to the Beloozersky reserve created in 1957, which has state status. Since 1965 it has been a hydrogeological natural monument.

Parameters of White Lake in Gafuriysky district

The reservoir is considered one of the largest in Bashkortostan, its maximum dimensions are 6.2 km in length and 2 km in width. The lake bowl has an irregular elliptical shape, elongated from south to north. It seems to repeat the general direction of the winding bed of the Belaya River, where, after the isthmus broke through, the water began to quickly flow. Once upon a time, the greatest depth of White Lake reached 10 meters, but by the 1970s its area was reduced by almost half, and measurements of the bottom in the middle of the lake began to show results of only 3–4 meters.

The construction of a dam helped to avoid complete shallowing of the reservoir, which helped cope with the impending disaster. Today its greatest depth is 11 meters, and the average is about 4 meters. According to reference data, the lake spreads over an area of about 9 square meters. km, but the area of its water surface is not constant, it varies depending on the season.

The water of White Lake is soft and slightly cloudy. Its composition is characterized by a moderate content of minerals of biogenic and organic origin. The reservoir is fed by precipitation, underground springs and sub-channel waters of the Belaya River. Through channels it is connected to Lake Prorva. The flow occurs through the Karmalka and Prorva rivers. The main part of the lake bottom is covered with silt, the coast is sandy, loamy and clayey.

The reservoir is surrounded by floodplain forests and water meadows. Willow, birch, bird cherry, viburnum and elm grow here; the most common herbs are sedge, amphibian buckwheat, horsetail, buttercup and other vegetation. Local inhabitants include mallard duck, teal, marsh chicken crake, as well as gulls, beavers and muskrats.

The Uchalinsky district is unique in the abundance of sources of large rivers: Miass, Uy, Ural, Belaya... Half of the area of the district is occupied by forests. There are deposits of copper pyrite ores, ore gold, placer gold, chromite, talc, facing, building, and ornamental stones, serpentinite, and limestone. Products made from local granite decorate the halls of the Hermitage. Jasper and marble were widely used in the reconstruction of monuments and repair of embankments of St. Petersburg in the year of its 300th anniversary. The Uchalinsky district is given a special charm and, if you like, resort feel by its numerous lakes, excellent places for recreation and travel. Urgun, Karagaily and their surroundings are declared complex natural monuments.

People come to the reservoir with tents or simply by car. Many people stay closer to the south coast, as there are more sandy beaches with shallows and a gentle entrance to the water. What kind of fish can you catch in the Republic of Bashkortostan

Despite the fact that there are a large number of reservoirs in the Republic, it is not possible to catch fish everywhere, and not everyone succeeds. The recreation center has barbecue areas with a set of skewers, barbecue grills and cauldrons. Firewood and coal are purchased separately. There is a gazebo near each house, on the territory there is a bathhouse and internet, rental of boats, catamarans and bicycles.

There is plenty of entertainment at the recreation center. Here they organize rides on inflatable cheesecakes, organize impromptu celebrations and backgammon tournaments.

Near Birsk there is a wonderful lake Shamsutdin, on the shores of which you can often see fishermen with various gear. Most often, feeder fishermen go there for night fishing in search of trophy carp. Fans of spinning fishing prefer to catch burbot, pike and perch in the pond. The fish are quite varied, so everyone can have a great time.

Near the village of Mechnikovo there is Lake Akkul, which spinning anglers try to avoid, but fans of feeder and float fishing often visit. Trophy catfish are often found in the reservoir, but small crucian carp can also be found. Fans of bream fishing also often stuff their catches, and carp can often be found there.

Lake Beloye, located not far from the gardening non-profit partnership of the same name, attracts not only local but also visiting fishermen with its underwater inhabitants. Fans of spinning fishing have the opportunity to fish for perch and pike. Fans of feeder and float fishing can try their fishing luck while fishing for bream, crucian carp or carp. Catfish are often found in the lake.

Near Beloretsk there is Lake Kuldybai, which pleases fishermen with very rare species of fish, for example peled or whitefish. But in the lake you can also find very common fish, such as crucian carp and roach. Fans of spinning fishing can delight themselves with perch and large pike.

Village Beloe Ozero

The village began to be developed near the railway station in the 1930s and until 2007 was called Beloe Ozero Station Village. The railway line was laid to serve the first oil field in Bashkortostan - Ishimbayskoye. It was discovered south of Sterlitamak in 1932.

Other settlements closest to the reservoir are Antonovka, Dmitrievka, Beloozerovka, Sofyino. In any of them you can try to find temporary accommodation for the night.

Pavlovskoe Reservoir

The Pavlovsk reservoir is glorified by fishermen throughout Bashkiria and beyond. The water is used and purified by pumping stations for supply to the cities of Ufa and Blagoveshchensk, which are developing next to the reservoir. The presence of many species of white and predatory fish does not allow any fisherman to go home without a catch. There are deep places on the reservoir where (according to the stories of experienced fishermen) the largest catfish and bream live. You need to catch them using strong gear from a boat with large baits from a bunch of worms. The fishing line should be twisted because if a large fish bites, the thin line will break. The length of the fishing line should also be sufficient because large fish live in holes at the bottom, and the depth of the reservoir in some places reaches 1 km.

It is good to catch fish such as pike perch in late autumn on the first ice or early spring. The night ice will melt in the morning and you can go fishing on a boat. From autumn to spring, on the shore of each body of water there are signs indicating the places where you can go out on the ice and where you shouldn’t because of thin ice. For fishing in Bashkiria, 12 places are indicated where you can fish without the danger of falling through the ice. The environs of the villages of Atamanovka and Khoroshaevo are very beautiful places and good for catching pike perch. The villages are located near forests with pine and birch trees, where in summer you can eat berries and pick mushrooms. So you can bring home not only fish.

In the lake districts there are entire groves where you can hunt. But fishing in the reservoir is the main hobby of all fishermen in the area. Amateurs from Russia come to fish. The wide variety and calm waters make for fishing all year round. According to the stories of experienced fishermen, one kilogram perch can be caught at the reservoir, and the daily catch can be up to 10 kg.

How to get to White Lake in Gafuriysky district

The easiest way to get to the reservoir is by car. From Ufa and from Sterlitamak you need to take the P240 highway connecting these cities. At Tolbazov you need to turn at the road sign in the direction of Novoitekeyevo (in the first case - left, in the second - right) and then follow the road towards Darino. Here several options for the further path appear, depending on the planned final stop.

To the West Bank

Option one. Before reaching Daryino, you can turn left following the sign “Chuvashsky Nagadak”. Next, get to the railway crossing at the “95 km” station, turn right and go down to the lakeside road. Then you have to make your own choice - to go right or left.

Option two. Already in Daryino you need to take a sharp right and then a left turn, pass the railway crossing and, after the sign for Krasnousolsky, turn not to the right, as the arrow shows, but to the left - onto Vostochnaya Street in the village of Beloe Ozero. It will lead to a pond.

To the east bank

In this case, you need to follow the second option, just do not turn onto Vostochnaya Street, but continue to go straight following the “Tabyn” sign. The exit to the reservoir will be behind the dam.

Camping White Lake is located next to the Pribrezhny sanatorium and consists of wooden houses without amenities.

Inside these houses there are beds, a wardrobe, a bedside table, a table, an outlet, everything you need to come here and go to bed. And the sleep here is excellent. In general, the rooms are no frills, but it’s quite possible to live in them. Experienced vacationers recommend taking with you an extension cord or tee, toilet paper, a clothesline for drying clothes and, of course, a good mood.
