The cat is 1.5 years old and has been going to shows since birth.

“He only eats quail at our house. Personally, prices in my cattery start from a thousand dollars for a kitten,” said breeder Nodira Merzaeva.

Why are cat shows held?

The first purpose for which such events are organized is to popularize various breeds of animals, conduct some kind of advertising, and conduct information work. The second task is the implementation of breeding selection of purebred pets for breeding.

It is at the exhibition that experts compare cats of each breed with the corresponding standard and hand out titles and ratings. The main goal of the judges is to select the best specimens for breeding, as well as to demonstrate cats that best fit the modern standard of each breed. Only the best animals winning the “Best-in-Show” competition receive titles. But not only praise is poured in the direction of the owners: the judges always note the existing defects and shortcomings of individual cats.

If an exhibition is held without an examination, then its nature is advertising, when any breeds are promoted, a demonstration is organized. Cat shows of an evaluative nature are often held in Moscow: club (without awarding titles, a small number of participants); national exhibition with a judge (titles no higher than candidate champion are awarded) and international (any titles are awarded, an international category judge acts as an expert). There are specialized exhibitions where certain breeds and colors are exhibited.
