GRATITUDE
Thank you for choosing a fish finder from Humminbird, the premier fish finder manufacturer in the United States. We have built our reputation on the technical excellence of our products and the highest quality of production. You will use your echo sounder for many years without any problems in the most difficult conditions of the open sea.
If, unfortunately, your fish finder requires repair, we offer our unmatched warranty support, free for the first year from the date of purchase of our product, and which can be continued for a nominal additional fee. Details at the end of this Guide.
We kindly ask you to carefully read this “User's Manual” so that you can take full advantage of all the advantages of our new echo sounder. To register your purchase with us and to help us identify it when contacting technical support, please fill out and send to us the warranty card included in the binding of this “User’s Manual.”
ATTENTION! An echo sounder cannot provide full navigation of the vessel and will not be able to prevent collisions with other vessels, with floating and semi-submerged objects, with shoals, and therefore cannot protect against injury. While the ship is moving, the depth of water under the keel can change so quickly that the boatmaster does not have time to react. Therefore, we advise you to move slowly if shoals or submerged obstacles are expected.

ECHO SOUNDER CONTROL
WHAT IS SEEN ON THE SCREEN
What's visible on the screen
The 150SX echo sounder is equipped with a 128x64 dot LCD screen. This screen provides incomparable image clarity in all lighting conditions and in the widest temperature range.
When you turn it on for the first time, the fish finder will operate under the settings that were set when it left the factory. The echo sounder will remember the settings made in subsequent operating sessions.
Here are the main elements of the screen image that will always be present in all operating modes of the echo sounder.
Depth.
A number indicating the depth directly below the bottom of your boat.
Depth Range
. The range of viewed depths is shown in numbers at the right edge of the screen. The number 0 corresponds to the surface of the water. The lower number (60 in the figure) means the lower value of the current depth range. There are only nine such ranges. The range is selected in such a way as to best represent the section of the water column. As the depth of the body of water changes, the depth range will change accordingly to ensure that the entire water column is included in the screen image.
In automatic mode, the top line will always be the water surface line. You can see small breaks in the line representing the surface of the water. Such gaps can occur at certain moments when the echo sounder does not capture the bottom, or at moments when information about the state of the bottom is not updated.
New information about the state of the water column appears at the right edge of the screen and moves to the left as new information arrives at the echo sounder. The 150SX sonar automatically selects a depth range to show the entire water column from the surface to the bottom below the boat's bottom. The depth range is usually selected so that the bottom image on the screen occupies no more than 1/3 of the entire screen field. The remaining 2/3 of the screen area is a section of water.

ECHO SOUNDER CONTROL
TRAINING MODE
There are two ways to start the training mode. If the fish finder is turned off, press and hold the POWER button for approximately 3 seconds until a continuous beep sounds.
You can start training mode by selecting the SIMULATOR function from the start screen that appears immediately after turning on the fish finder. When the image appears, just click
STARTING WORK SETTINGS TRAINING DIAGNOSTICS
“Down Arrow” button until the black bar highlights the word SIMULATOR. When the selection menu screen goes dark, the fish finder will begin operating in training mode.
When working in training mode, the echo sounder will respond to button presses in the same way as it would in a real situation. Therefore, you should try all possible modes and methods of controlling the echo sounder without fear of harming anything, or try different combinations of settings for the echo sounder operating parameters.
To stop working in training mode, turn off the echo sounder.
While the echo sounder is operating in training mode, you can see the word SIMULATOR on the screen, continuously running and indicating that the echo sounder is not currently working with a real signal.
MEMORIZING SETTINGS
If the 150SX sonar is connected to the emitter, then after selecting the initial operating mode START UP, all changes in the sonar settings made in the so-called User Options will be written to the device's memory. This allows you to experiment with sonar settings and then return to proven settings.
If the fish finder is operating in training mode (SIMULATION) without a connected emitter, all settings made during training will be lost when the device is turned off. After the next turn on, the echo sounder will begin to work either under the control of the so-called “factory” settings or the settings made during the last session of real operation of the echo sounder with a connected emitter.
IMPORTANT: To record the sonar control settings selected in training mode, a transducer must be connected to the sonar. If the transducer is not connected, any settings made while the transducer is running will be lost when turned off.

ADDITIONAL DEVICES
Humminbird can offer its customers a wide range of accessories that can work with the 350TX. All of these accessories and devices are made with the same high principles and standards and are covered by Humminbird's standard one-year warranty. The catalog of additional devices and accessories attached to this manual not only contains an extensive list, but also includes instructions for placing an order. All Humminbird products can be ordered from your Humminbird dealer or directly from the factory, whose contact number is listed in the “Technical Support” section of this manual.
INSTALLATION
The 350TX fish finder echo sounder consists of two main units: a screen unit and an emitter.
The screen unit includes electronic circuits for controlling the emission and reception of ultrasonic waves, as well as a screen and control buttons. The screen unit should be installed in a place where it is convenient to see the readings on the screen and control the operation of the echo sounder without difficulty. The on-screen control unit is attached using a device that allows you to quickly connect and remove it. In the mounting device, the screen control unit can be rotated at different angles, which ensures good visibility of the screen.
The emitter converts the electrical energy received from the transmitter into mechanical impulses, otherwise known as sound waves. In addition, the emitter receives reflected sound waves and converts them back into electrical signals, which are displayed on the echo sounder screen. The emitter must always be in contact with water, and the water in the place where the echo sounder is installed should not boil or swirl. The most common place to install the emitter
How does an echo sounder work?
The work of the fish-finding system picks up sound waves and converts them into certain indicators. Such as: the underwater structure of the bottom contour and the depth of the reservoir. The sonar sends a pulse that reaches any of the objects. The device then analyzes the time it took for the pulse to reach the object and converts it into data about the location, size and type of object.
In verbal description this is a long job, but in action the whole process takes one second and there are an infinite number of such processes. Everything happens so quickly that no matter how fast the boat moves, the sensor readings will always be ahead of it.
The dual beam sensor does double work in parallel with each other. One of them is narrow 20 degrees. He details the bottom to prevent the boat from hitting a rock or fallen tree. The other beam is 60 degrees, it is called broadband. Such a beam is able to detect fish and determine what the bottom consists of: silt, sand or stones.

transom. The emitter can be strengthened in several ways. In the next
This section describes these methods and recommendations for choosing the best way to mount the emitter on your boat.
Selecting the emitter installation method
The 350TX fishfinder echo sounder is equipped with an XT 6 TB 90 emitter. This emitter can be installed on the transom or mounted in the hold of a fiberglass boat.
A typical radiator design is installed on the transom of the vessel. This method minimizes signal loss and allows for additional adjustment of the emitter after its installation. The mounting device that is included with the echo sounder is designed to protect both the vessel and the emitter in the event of a collision between the vessel and semi-submerged objects or the road during transportation.
An alternative to mounting the emitter on the transom is to install the emitter in the hold, which is possible for currently very common ships with fiberglass hulls. Since fiberglass has approximately the same characteristics as water, the signal from the emitter passes through the walls of the vessel into the water with minimal loss. The condition is that the hull of the fiberglass vessel is single-layer (on vessels with a double bottom the emitter does not work). In addition, any air cavities in the “body” of the plastic case will be an insurmountable obstacle to the passage of sound waves.

This section describes these methods and recommendations for choosing the best way to mount the emitter on your boat.
Selecting the emitter installation method
The 150SX fishfinder echo sounder is equipped with an XHS 6 24 emitter. This emitter can be installed on the transom or mounted in the hold of a fiberglass boat.

PREPARATION AND INSTALLATION
OTHER RADIERS AND INSTALLATION METHODS
Installing the emitter inside the hold does not require drilling holes through the hull of the vessel, and after several tests, better operational results can be obtained compared to installing the emitter on the transom, especially on high-speed vessels. All that's needed is a two-part epoxy adhesive to hold the emitter in place.
OTHER RADIERS AND INSTALLATION METHODS
The 350TX echo sounder comes with everything needed for installation and normal operation on most existing types of vessels. However, there are cases where other types of emitters and other installation methods may be required. Vessels with stationary engines, wooden or metal bottoms, and yachts all require a special approach to choosing the type of emitter and its installation location. These other types of emitters and their mounting methods are described below.
Compact installation
The standard emitter can be installed in a so-called “compact” installation using the MHX PT2 mounting fixture. This device with a “suction cup” allows you to temporarily install the emitter on the bottom of a ship or on any other surface.
Lowering motor mounting
The standard emitter can also be installed on the lowering motor in most of its modifications using the AD STM 7 fastening device. The kit includes a clamp and latch that allow you to attach the emitter to the lowering motor.
Installing the emitter in the bottom hole
The emitter can be installed in a specially drilled hole in the bottom. Large boats or boats with inboard engines create a strong wave astern, making transom mounting ineffective. It is possible that the bottom is very thick or just double-layered, or made of materials like wood or metal,

(which do not transmit ultrasonic waves). In this case, there is no alternative to installing the emitter in the bottom hole.
Installation of the emitter in the bottom hole requires an additional leveling block, which compensates for the inclination of the bottom relative to the water level. In addition, this is generally a responsible operation, and the experience of a person knowledgeable in maritime affairs can be useful here.
CHANGE EMITTER
Other types of emitters are available as an alternative to the standard emitter. You can replace your new and not yet installed emitter on the vessel with another desired type of emitter, for which you simply need to send it to our Technical Support department. Some types of emitters may require additional payment. Details can be found in the attached catalog or by calling the Technical Support department.
STARTING INSTALLATION
Now that you have decided on the method of installing the emitter, you can begin installing the echo sounder as a whole. Refer to the included fold-out 350TX Sonar Installation Guide for step-by-step instructions on how to install the sonar display unit and transducer. Bound at the beginning of this manual is a tear-off page containing a template that may be needed to install the transducer on the transom.
Before starting installation, make sure that you have everything you need: * Electric drill and a set of drills * Phillips and flat-head screwdrivers * Tape measure * Pen or pencil * 12 V voltage source (ship battery) * 1 A fuse * Clamp for connecting the fuse (if the fish finder connects directly to the batteries) * Silicone sealant (for sealing drilled holes) * Two-component epoxy adhesive (for installing the emitter in the bilge)
