You can approach the water in two or three places, from the side of the field. According to the senior forester, there is a lot of non-draining fish and a variety of fish. Walking along the shore, I did not notice any traces of civilization or active fishing. It was in the fall of 2008.

: Convenient places for fishing - along the entire shore there are small reeds, many cleared places. Using a fishing rod from the shore (I was convinced from personal experience) it’s mostly small things that bite - occasionally a half-kilogram bream and large roach come up (although the person who recommended this place to me caught decent trophies of carp and bream here using an ordinary 4-meter fishing rod with a small bloodworm hook) . Mostly larger peaceful fish take here on donks and feeders on feeders and tops. I usually use FISHDRIM CARP feeding without any additional additives - it works excellently for all fish. The baits for long-distance casting are mainly maggots, occasionally pearl barley (a worm without a bite constantly eats something completely without bites - it tends to sin on crayfish). The most catchy baits on a fishing rod are bloodworms, dough and mastyrka. Much less often he takes maggots, pearl barley and worms.
Fishing seasons
Each season activates the bite of one or another fish. If we look in detail by month, the following picture emerges. December - in the first half almost all the fish are caught, in the second - perch, pike perch, pike, and less often chub and bream. January - pike, pike perch, perch, bream, roach. February – perch, pike perch. March – you can catch perch, roach, rudd, and pike perch. April – perch, crucian carp. May – chub, pike, catfish, asp. June – chub, crucian carp, asp, rudd, roach, catfish. In the second half of the month, bream joins in, but pike perch quietens down. July – the same types of fish are biting as in June, predators are still frozen. August - chub, asp, rudd, roach, catfish are on the move, in the second half of the month the crucian carp subsides, but pike perch and bream begin to bite. September – chub, bream, roach, catfish, pike perch, pike; in the second half of September the bite disappears for asp. October – you can catch chub, pike, pike perch. November – as a rule, the bite of peaceful fish disappears, and it’s time for the predator.

The shores are largely rocky, a significant part of the shore is overgrown with mixed forest; during the season there are good mushrooms in the forest. From Trigirya and beyond there are many places for wild recreation. The width of the river in this place reaches 1 km.
Advantages and disadvantages of a free pond
An option for free fishing is the Teterev River, Trigirsky Reservoir. The catch can be very diverse: silver bream, bream, chub, tench, perch, roach, carp, silver carp, crucian carp, perch, pike, crayfish. Carp are more common in the area of the village of Trigirya. There are also wonderful places for quiet hunting and relaxing outdoor recreation. You can hunt for catfish near the village of Korczak. The place allows you to use both methods - throw out bottom gear and sail out on a boat to catch catfish with a quok.
Troublesome moments: access is not always convenient, a lot of time is spent on clearing the place and the bottom. But this is only in those cases if you go to completely wild places. The biggest drawback is “nets” - a thrown net can be picked up in the most unexpected place. Some nets are forgotten and the fish simply die there.

: From Zhitomir along the Zhitomir - Korosten highway to Chernyakhov, in Chernyakhov to the square with the monument to Lenin and to the left (Ilyich remains on the right hand), keep to the main road (straight at all intersections).
We leave Chernyakhov, pass Kletishche, behind it we look for a left turn with a sign for Ksaverovka - then a dirt road with a backfill of stone chips - we enter Ksaverovka and at the first intersection we go straight (the main one goes to the right), we leave the village and keep to the left. We pass a small pond, a rural cemetery - then look left into the forest (next to the turn there is a transformer), turn - then, in fact, the pond itself. According to the owner - carp and grass carp from 3 kg, crucian carp up to 1.5 kg, but capricious, tench up to 1 kg. Lots of small tench. Pike is present and fishing will be allowed in the fall (started). The reservoir is regularly stocked with carp, carp, and crucian carp (crucian carp is used to feed pike). Conditions for staying at the reservoir: Entry and stay - 10 hryvnia per day per person. Car (parking) - 10 hryvnia per day. Boat rental - 20 hryvnia per day. A house for several people with hot and cold water, shower - 300 hryvnia per day. There is an island - 200 hryvnia per day, if the company is more than 10 people - 20 hryvnia per person. There is no catch rate as such, but all fish to be cooked or taken with you is 20 UAH/kg. Additional services include a cauldron of fish soup + a dish of fried fish - 180 hryvnia. The owner of the reservoir is a very pleasant, but strict person - the reservoir has been rented for a very long time - the owner went through a struggle with marriages and with the local mentality. Nearby there is another reservoir - a rearing one - there are a lot of small fish there up to 1.5 kg - they bite like crazy - the owner kindly provided a test drive with his gear (float rod). Only verified fishermen are allowed into this reservoir, since upon payment of 50 hryvnia per day ALL fish are released. And rightly so :). The reservoir is nice and quiet, there is not a lot of garbage, there are many places for fishing, equipped with small pavements. The bite is mainly on corn, but experiments are yielding positive results. The fish also bite on boilies.

: Features of the reservoir: you can drive up to any fishing spot by car. The reservoir is located in a field between the two villages of Zabrodye and Vysokoye, the banks are clean, you can pitch tents. I haven’t been down for more than five years, there’s a lot of fish, there are trophy carp and grass carp. The bottom of the reservoir is sandy in places, and muddy-sandy in others.

When going fishing, it is impossible to predict the outcome of the catch in advance. It depends on weather conditions, pressure, and time of year. The first two signs are impossible to predict because the weather can change several times a day. But the seasons take their course.
Our ancestors carefully observed all the changes and noticed some patterns. Here are some fishing tips that may come in handy:
- the rose hips are blooming - crucian carp and pike are biting;
- midge emergence – active carp and perch;
- the rye has begun to spike - go for the bream;
- Dragonflies begin to fly out - the roach is biting;
- the water begins to subside - catfish and asp will go;
